Throwing duds, calling inside runs on 1st down, throwing to a crowded field on short out routes or flats on the short side of the hash marks isnt doing the defense or special teams a favor either.

The stats prove that our ST is the worst in football. The stats prove that our offense is generally very good.

Facts have spoken.

The offense has been just as disappointing. Time to stop blaming one group when the entire team has underperformed.

Your feelings notwithstanding, that is factually untrue.

What's "disappointing" some folks is that the offense can't overcome all of the ineptitude that surrounds them. That's not the fault of the offense.

Our ST is terrible, no one is debating that.

Our offense has had a bunch of splash plays between the 20, but is inept in the red zone. Really comes down to how our guy that handles the ball every down performs in crunch situations when the field isn't wide open. It's a very concerning stat given all our weapons and very consistent oline. It's clear as day our QB is good when the scheme has a field to work with (for the most part this season) but having to adjust, read defenses and overcome pressure is just a massive weak point in his game.

The defense can say the same thing about the Saints game or the Patriots game.

The team is 6-6 for a reason and every part of the team is to blame.

I think special teams is the biggest reason why this team is struggling and sitting at 6-6. You can’t stay in close games or even win them if you can’t win field position or make a 40yd FG.

- Turnovers creates field position too, and we are among/remain the very worse at it ..and annually among the bottom of the league.

- One of the leading reasons for our losses are a lack of turnovers because of the lack of playmakers.
We simply don't have ball hawks,..(that's also the leading reason I believe we won't re-sign Byron Jones as a FA)
and when we do get an Xavier INT, its too many games that it is too rare and too far apart.

- and it's not just making play on the thrown ball INTs.
but what about the fumble punch strip ? I saw Pats players striping and upper cutting the ball out of hands vs us,.. but that strategic doesn't work here ?

Or the plays in the red zone are not working and WRs are being covered with no separation which we've seen recently. Romo had struggled in the red zone at times as did any QB we had in there during the 2015 season. So to just make a blanket statement that says our QB struggles in the red zone is more of an opinion.... IMO of course.

This can't be emphasized enough. When the Bears aren't getting points from some type of return their fans want to know why because it has happened so often for them over the years. We Cowboys fans just assume the only way to get points is through our offense marching 85yds down the field. We've completely forgotten that teams can score points with Def/ST because we are the worst in the NFL at it.

Over the last 5 years, KC has 26 return TDs compared to our 6. 26! That equals over 5tds per season. That is absolutely crazy to even think about.

Thus far this season the Steelers have 18 more takeaways than we do. I couldn't even imagine where we would be if we had 18 more possessions. 10-2? 9-3? And guess what the Steelers backup QBs minus Antonio Brown and LeBron Bell are in the playoff hunt at 7-5.

2015 had backup qbs and and less talent at WR, no comparison to now

2009 we had Roy williams as our starting wr...and a solid but inconsistent oline

2011 we had good receivers, but the worst offensive line. Also had felix Jones..

2012 again another no name offensive line but had good receivers

2019 - we have great talent at WR, RB, and the Oline. And the oline has been very consistent with pass blocking. And our scheme has allowed for the pass game to take off this year. So yes I'm blaming Dak for a large chunk of the red zone issues. Just my opinion of course.

Cherry-picking two out of 12 games? Let's look at the entire season.

Since I see no argument that the STs suck, let's focus on offense and defense:

Offense: yards per drive (2nd), points per drive (4th), drive success rate (2nd)
Defense: yards per drive (18th), points allowed per drive (14th), opponents drive success rate (21st)

Worst special teams, middling defense, top five offense...offense's fault.

Cowboys cut the deficit to 24-14, kickoff out of bounds, Bears drive 60 yards for another TD.

Special teams and defense, baby. Cowboys!

31 points matches Chicago's season high.

Our offensive line has been garbage all year too but we put about a third of our money into that right now. We need to maybe see if we can get some better players there. They are the weakness of this team right now.

Bears match their season high in points despite the Cowboys not having a turnover on offense with 10 minutes left in the game.

How?

Special teams and defense, baby. Hot Boyz!

Towards the end of the 3rd quarter it was said that other than the opening drive the offense ran 15 plays. 15 plays in what amounts to about half the game.

Cowboys cut the lead to 10, use two time outs, 3rd down...Bears pass for another first down.

They have 24 first downs to go along with their 31 points. The BEARS!

Maher makes sure to keep adding to the special teams stink by missing field goals. The Bears had the 29th offense and looked like a top 5 offense against this defense. It's fine to say that Dak could have and should have played better these last 2 weeks and still acknowledge that special teams and defense has severely hurt this team.

Bears offense finishes with season highs across the board, kudos to Rod's Hot Boyz.

Maher added to his league-leading missed FG mark and tossed in an out of bounds kickoff - Bears went 60 yards for a TD, of course.

The only thing Maher does well are extra points. He's perfect this season when many of his peers are not.

maybe a “$40 million a year franchise qb” could lift the team when other parts are struggling

Dak is getting paid franchise QB money. Period. End of Discussion. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 33-37 million per year. Get over it.

It is not Dak's fault the idiotic front office decided to buy their time...
