maybe a “$40 million a year franchise qb” could lift the team when other parts are struggling

Or the $90 million guy on defense as well as the Linebacker who got paid could earn their money and do what they got big contracts to do and not have to hope for the QB to bail them out, who didn't even get paid yet. Unlike them. D LAW and Jaylon should be earning their contracts and not playing on a defense that is getting worse every week.

Dak is getting paid franchise QB money. Period. End of Discussion. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 33-37 million per year. Get over it.

It is not Dak's fault the idiotic front office decided to buy their time...

The other players on the team shouldn't escape accountability for playing like trash. By this logic the other players never have to put up a great effort in the game if they are just supposed to rely on their QB to do all of the heavy lifting for the entire team every single time. Regardless of fans opinions of Dak, the other players on the team should not get a free pass for playing badly and having a losing season.

So where are we now with the Cowboys defense?

Yards per drive - 18th
Points per drive - 14th
Turnovers per drive - 26th
Plays per drive - 22nd
Time of possession per drive - 28th
Drive success rate 21st

Average of those? 21.5 out of 32 teams. Middling defense, at best.

How about the special teams?

Gross punting average - dead last
Net punting average - dead last
starting offensive field position - dead last
most missed field goals - dead last
