Makes no sense for the Jets unless they want to unload salary.

This makes alot of sense....Why? because guess what speaking facts, Greg Ellis is undersized, Jets in need of a Defensive End after losing Pro Bowler John Abraham, Cowboys looking for another D-Tackle on the other side of Jason Fergurson, Chris Canty good enough to start in Greg Ellis spot, and Cowboys knows they could keep Kenyon Coleman......

If you were the Jets, would you trade Robertson for Ellis straight up?

Didn't think so.

I hate it when people on this board conjure up these Madden trades??

Even if the Jets were trying to off load Robertson, I'm sure they're looking for more than an undistinguished, 9th year DE.

May as well offer Dexter Coakley and a 4th rounder for Robertson.

Fark !!!

Where did I say that the trade should be exactly as stated. I felt it was fairly
even, given that the Jets were trying to trade Robertson before the draft and got No takers. Was the trade for J Walker even up with what Denver
sent Green Bay? Hell No. All I've seen is that Ellis now feels unwanted in Dallas
and the Jets want to move Robertson. That is why I speculated a trade.

robertson is not a good fit. he is not a true 3-4 DT. we have feguson and stanley. so what do you do with robertson.

I would rather make a trade for a pick (3rd) or an OG for depth. or a WR.

may be we can trade Ellis for Leile from denver. leile is not a #1 WR but has speed, had 42 receptions last year and would be a great #2 or #3.

it would allow us to go into next year's draft without a need (ha ha)

Lelie is whining about being the third receiver in Denver, so what makes you think he'd change his mind to come to Dallas only to backup TO and Glenn?

That's assuming he beats out Crayton

Heh heh, good point.

I'd think if he came here, it would be nothing more than Peerless Price Part 2.

Ellis for D'Brick or Mangold :D

How about trading Ellis to the Cards for Leinart or maybe the Saints would be willing to do a deal straight up for Reggie Bush. Hey, the Colts need DE help how about Ellis for Manning (OK we'll throw in a conditional 7th round pick to boot).

Or how about the all-time best, Ellis for Randy Moss.

Get real folks.

This trade doesn't happen. Robertson doesn't fit here, and Ellis doesn't fit in New York. It wouldn't make sense.

As for Ashley Lelie, why would he come here, and still be a 3rd receiver... he doesn't want that.

I could see trading him to Green Bay if they had an offensive line.

The best sort of trade would probably be with Baltimore

Robertson will have a hard time in the 3-4......also, it would be in our best interest to trade him for an offensive lineman IMO

in all seriousness, I dont know how real the reports about the Ravens trade (Roy/Ellis for Reed/Lewis).. but if they really were interested in Ellis, which makes sense cause it is a need for them, what could we get from them?

There are players reportedly on the trading block all around the NFL. I do not believe Ellis is one of them and I don't think he's upset.
