Bingo.

I watched part of an episode and lost interest real quick.

I didn't think it was a great competition because the QB's throws didn't look that good on the incompletions. A 1v1 matchup should have pretty equal conditiont for both sides. They should have done the goal line drill instead.

For a big guy, Montrell Jones seems pretty weak.

If Hawkins can return punts than this show is a wrap because he seems like the most "special" player on the field.

'4th and Long' -- Speedy hits the road and Shorty stars again

Barry Horn/Reporter E-mail News tips

Michael Irvin won't have Steve "Speedy" Gonzalez to kick around anymore. The wide receiver was eliminated Monday night. Gonzalez never had a prayer. He seemed a perennial bottom two or bottom three player whoo was always standing before the jury waiting to hear if he was leaving.

Stop me if you have heard this before. Anthony Hawkins, the itty-bitty wide receiver from Toledo, won the competition of the night. It was sort of a musical footballs drill in which speed and smarts were key. I'm telling you the 5-7, 175-pound wide receiver continues to be the most impressive player on the show. And still, I have a feeling he won't measure up. We'll see.

Admittedly, I am not a football talent evaluator but the remaining wide receivers - Hawkins, Jesse Holley and Montrell Jones seem more impressive than the four defensive backs remaining. But then maybe it is supposed to seem that way on a show that undergoes lots of editing. Maybe the DBs will emerge. The key will be the 80th man's ability to play special teams.

speedy was one of the worst wr's every week.

Hawkins will win the show easily. He is the youngest, fastest and most talented.

How is Moses Washington a "track star" yet runs a 4.6

Hawkins does seem to have this sewn up.

My guess is that they are trying to edit this to make it seem like things are close so the show has suspense. But even trying to make it look even fails; Hawkins repeatedly shines. And they can't hide that.

So Hawkins will go as the 80th man on the roster. He will be gunning for a slot reciever spot. That's actually a rather weak position on this team. Roy, Miles, Hurd, and Stanback are clearly wideouts and don't fit in the slot. Crayton plays well in the slot.

I don't know about Travis Wilson, Julian Hawkins, Kevin Ogletree, and Manny Johnson. I need to see what they have. All I've heard is that Ogletree is looking good, but it is still incredibly early.

But if little Hawkins could provide some value on special teams, I think this team could use a legit slot speeder.

Right now, I think Stanback is gone. Too injury prone.

Roy, Miles, Patrick, Sam are on the team. That leaves one or two spots.

If anything, maybe lil Hawkins ends up on the PS and learns how to be a punt returner or something. He's got the speed, the wiggle, and the instincts. And he looks like he has hands too. I'd like to see him at least make the PS.

Speedy should have already been cut, probably day 1. The guy is not physical, doesn't hustle, and complains too much.

I am beginning to agree with some of the others, not a damn one of these guys has shown me they belong in the NFL. Jones is the only one I would even consider until I saw he has no heart, no hustle, and isn't in NFL football shape.
