Spell Zeke more?

Just a question, not trying to flame anyone. But if we get up in some of these games, should we be trying to spell Zeke a lil more to try and save those legs for a playoff run? After all, we do have a pretty decent crop of backup backs. Just some opinions please.

Curious did you check how many times he carries the ball before asking? What do you consider a lot of carries for Zeke to get more rest then he already does?

I think it's clear Zeke gets better with more touches. Run this guy until his legs fall off. Only way I stop using him the way he is currently being used is if and or when we lock up the East

He is not playing midfield in a World Cup soccer tournament. I am concerned about hamstrings when players quads get over developed though. I think he's good for his age and physical ability. I'd be concerned about other injuries rather than tired legs.

Morris seems to be running to darkness, as Terrell Davis like to say. Not sure what happened. Maybe it's time to give McFadden those carries.

That sounds like a good way to flame out in the playoffs.

Right now Zeke is on pace for 356 caries this year not counting the playoffs. That is a lot. He leads the league in attempts.

As a comparison, D. Murray had 392 in 2014.

I'd lke to see what DMC can do because Morris has 6 carries for 16 yards the last 2 games.

There's been a marked difference in the offense when Zeke is out of the lineup. Morris hasn't provided a spark since about week 2. Maybe that's why Jerry's talking about activating McFadden from NFI? Personally, I'm tired of the 'scheduled' series that Morris has been getting. He and the offense do little to nothing when he's out there. And Dunbar hasn't shown much either. Either way, there's currently a huge drop off.

Someone put a missing person alert for Lance Dunbar and Darius Jackson.

Them dudes are MIA in our backfield.

Looking at the schedule, I just don't see a great opportunity to give him a breather. Easiest game on the schedule is probably Tampa, and they are looking better as the season goes on. Hopefully McFadden comes back strong, but the best shot to give Zeke a rest might be securing a 1st round bye.

We need to spell him with somebody that can produce. Morris has been terrible since week 3. Personally, I would go with Dunbar to spell him. At least Dunbar is a threat in the passing game and has shown to gain some meaningful yards on the ground.

Dunbar has played quite a bit. They don't give him the ball much, but they do ask him to pick up the blitz on third down. He did so on Dez's TD against Pittsburgh.

I think they might be using him in those situations to save some wear and tear on Zeke.

Whats really weird is that I never remember us spelling Emmitt early in his career at all but I guess we did because he only averaged 24 carries 1 time in his career.

Zeke is averaging 22.3 and it seems we are resting him 3-4 series a game although yesterday I don't think we sat him for a whole drive like we have in past games.

Not until Dallas wraps up the division and bye week.

Media drama?

IMO he is not being overused or do not think there should a concern. Now this does not mean the team should not be mindful of his carries but his current pace is fine.

He has less than 25 carries in 7 games. People are worried about 3 games where is exceeded 25 carries?! Really?!

Giants: 20 carrries, 1 rec
Skins: 21 carries, 2 rec
Bears: 30 carries, 2 rec
49ers: 23 carries, 1 rec
Bengals: 15 carries, 3 rec
Packers: 29 carries, 2 rec
Eagles: 22 carries, 4 rec
Browns: 18 carries, 1 rec
Steelers: 21 carries, 2 rec
Ravens: 25 carries, 4 rec
