I know many will criticise Spencer if he doesn't set the world on fire tonight. But I'll be happy if he gets a solid 10 plays in without coming up gimpy. I don't expect an overnight success but I'd like to see him making progress

It has nothing to do with what he does tonight. It has to do with what he hasnt done when healthy.

along those lines. I just want to see how he comes off the ball. We are few weeks from getting Lawrence back so this is huge for cowboys.

The simple task of getting onto the field tonight should prevent any criticism of Spencer evenif it's only for a few plays.

My expectations are pretty low, he hasn't played in a long time

If he got 1 pressure and 1 tackle I would be pleasantly surprised....

I agree with this but I'd be happy with 2 pressures and a sack :)

Spencer has the strength to be better at DE than Ware did, but he's still basically a 3-4 OLB whom we want to be a successful 4-3 DE.

Ware couldn't make the transition, and I doubt Spencer will. The fact we are determined to get him in there tonight is further evidence of how bad our DEs are in this scheme.

I dont expect much, i dont even think he will see 12 snaps unless theres an injury. I see him going on on 3rd and longs a couple regular 3rd downs. Considering how Dallas has worked in Melton and McClain slowly i expect no different on how they handle Spencer.

Yep. Fans talk about him like he's some great returning player. He's a career underachiever now in his 30's and coming off a nasty injury. I expect next to nothing.

We're talking about a guy who averaged about 3.5 sacks a year until his breakout (contract) season where he had 11. He's ok, but because we have NOBODY else better, anything he gives us is a plus...

Both Ware and Spencer were DEs that the Cowboys converted to OLB for a 3-4. Ware did just fine playing the position. His problem is injuries and he had those at OLB also.

I am 100% with you, bro.

A matched pair... I saw the 11 sacks and a Pro Bowler. Thanks for our soldiers, if it were left to other's being responsible...well, you'd still be complaining...
