Who was the coach a couple of years ago that had his defense go all out when the other team was kneeling down to run out the clock?

Different situation, fake a kneel is not a legal play

It's a bush-league play. The defense doesn't have a real chance to really defend on that play. The NFL should do away with that before some QB gets hurt. You know some team coming up on their schedule will see that and go 100% on an obvious clock play.

I'm just glad we beat them. It was great and it totally ruined their season. Haha!

In a situation like last night when Ben R. did the fake-spike toss to the WR, both the OL and DL stood there. The OL may have done it on purpose, or they might not have known Ben and AB were going for the TD. If the DT or NT (depending on the scheme), assumes fake spike and bowls over the C or G, and nails the QB, does he get flagged for roughing the passer? If so, it seems there's no defense for the fake-spike.
don't believe it would be a penalty because a team a few years ago started doing that bullrush on those clock killing spike plays. Cant remember who it was, but it didn't last for more than a year because it didn't really work. It wasn't illegal for them though

Brad Sham and Babe Laufenberg on The Fan said yesterday that they thought that play had been outlawed.

Guess not.

I wondered about that, too. They were fooled too. I think they might need a clocking the ball rule where you can't fake it--otherwise, anyone is justified in going full speed against a team who is just clocking it.
I don't mind faking it, it's chess. My problem is the refs let it go even though nobody was set on offense. Guys were moving etc. I will give Mcfadden props for staying with it and not just standing there

Anyone is justified in doing that:
