Spoke to my insider guy

It's been awhile since I've posted one of these, mainly because I haven't seen my Insider friend in almost a year. He works as a contractor in my office so we see each other in passing every once in awhile. I need to keep this short and sweet because i'm slammed at work, but wanted to share because each time I have in the past, quite a few of you really appreciated the input (while a bunch of you also remain skeptical, which is totally fine by me).

Some of the input I've received in the past when speaking to "John":
  • Greg Hardy didn't have a snowball's chance in hell in remaining here because his attitude was terrible
  • Brice Butler was extremely arrogant and wouldn't have a future here
  • Dez time was limited
  • Jason Garrett was locked in and far from the hot seat
There's more but it's not coming to me because it was such a long time ago. I do remember that he was right about a lot of things, but not right about everything which makes sense since he's not on the coaching staff.

In seeing him this time here is some of the more recent input he provided:
  • TTaco has a terrible attitude. Has butted heads with Haley consistently and while he has the natural talent, he lacks a positive attitude and isn't coachable. Said he wouldn't be surprised to see us waive him even while still on rookie contract.
  • Says Dorrance Armstrong is for real and is the guy to keep an eye on rather than Taco.
  • Says Jaylon Smith is still only at 85-90% and has A LOT more to offer as he continues to heal.
  • Says going after Earl Thomas in FA is unlikely as we don't feel the need to pay him especially after coming off of season ending injury.
  • Believes Tyron Smith should be shut down for the year. The guy is seriously banged up from head to toe.
  • Says Cole Beasley's attitude is crap. Mentioned a play where the ball hit him in the head and rather than trying to make the play he stopped and looked at Dak before realizing the ball was still in play. Said he got ripped by coaches for not continuing until the whistle was blown. (i didn't watch the Indy game so i don't know what he's referring to). But said Cole will most likely be gone next year
  • Said Linehan is most likely gone along with Kellen Moore.
  • Here's where it gets crazy......
  • Says we aren't as high on Dak as we say we are. Doesn't believe he gets a big contract. Says we really like Mullens from San Fran. ????? Can see us making a trade for him at some point.
  • I'm a Dak supporter so I obviously didn't want to hear this but I'm just reporting
  • Says we'd also be open to Romo coming in to join the coaching staff. I know it's crazy, I SWEAR i wouldn't make this up. maybe my guy is full of it, but this is what he told me.
That's all I have for you guys. Please don't PM me asking me to ask him specific questions, as I don't know when i'll see "John" again. Please don't ask me to prove my source is real, as I truly don't care to prove anything. I'm not here for fame or credit. I'm just a cowboys fan sharing info I've received as I'd like anyone else to as well. If I remember anything else I'll add to this thread later!
Interesting comments.

I once had a familiar as a kid.

He was invisible and went everywhere.

Was not named John.

Hercules..from the cartoon.

If Tyron is **** down rest of year this team isn’t going anywhere. I do think we’d be wise to invest a pick on an OT.

I haven't even seen this Nick Mullens guy until just now. He's not bad.

He doesn't look like he has mobility and that is a big weakness in a JG scheme IMO.

Appreciate your post.

Maybe.

But if the coaches know anything at all about the QB position and are watching Dak on film, they must know there are serious problems. And that he does not warrant a big contract.

Of course, it's entirely possible they are completely incompetent.

I think maybe it ties to getting rid of Linehan and Moore, and get Dak a new OC and QB coach before a long term deal

Hmmmm... the clerk at my local liquor store is named "John" and said the same thing.

Seriously though, I will gladly accept any glimmer of hope that we are not going to throw big money at Dak.

BTW. Taco does not have the natural talent. His college tape was decent at best. His SPARQ score was average. He has good size, that's it. Now hearing he has attitude problems, he can be gone. I love DLaw and Gregory, like Armstrong, and TCraw has been solid. Send a message to the rest of the team by cutting bait with a former first rounder.
Nah, trade him. A former 1st rounder will get us something, not as much as we spent, but something is better than nothing and there is always a team willing to take a chance for pass rush help and make him their problem.

He's not a problem, no. We are just so deep on the DL and we have several guys we like, but he'd be a great addition to your team where he can get more playing time. We'd sure hate to lose him. ;)

Thanks for the info. Rather "John" is right or wrong, you can only pass along the info. Which is some very interesting stuff.

Not as high an Dak, and Linehan AND Moore most likely gone, is music to my ears.

Would Love for Romo and Witten (just throwing my hopes in there on him) to come in and be added the staff would be great.
an't blame the team for trying. But would they give up a nice cushion both job to join the long hours of coaching. I am not sure how much time they put into prepping for a game to announce. As opposed to coaching, basically year round.

Shame about Taco, as we been hearing this lately. Which makes since why they took Armstrong. That and DLaw's contract situation, as well as not knowing about how Gregory ws going to work out either. A lot going on there from all angles.

Beasley needs to go, and resign Austin if he gets back and plays well. Regardless, Beasley needs to go unless a very cap friendly deal.

Mehh, if Beasley has an attitude right now - will it get better AFTER he gets a big payday? I doubt it.

Another poster here mentioned signing a guy like Golden Tate instead, that could be a much better fit if Tate's attitude and contract are OK.

Thanks for posting. Totally agree on Linehan, Jaylon and Dorance Armstrong.

Cole Beasley mailing it in isn't insider info, that play where he gave up on a tipped pass and it hit him in the head should be made into an animated gif and posted here daily.

I think Beasley's attitude and arrogance will be part of the reason why he won't be back. Along with some measure of valid frustrations with this scheme and this quarterback. Beasley thinks he's better than he is, but he's also better than his stats indicate. He could be making more plays out there if put in better circumstances, but he's not the star he seems to think he is either.
