I like Herbert but putting him that high is ridiculous. I can think of at least 4 qbs that I would put higher. The qb position is not all about skill set but also intangibles also.

If you want to see the impact an uber-talented QB can have on a WR, just ask Cooper Kupp.
Sure, he's a really good WR, but he went ballistic

That guy had been in the league already 4 years,

4 year average < Stafford
910 yards, 6 TDs
....so, a little better than Michael Gallo in 2020

First year w/ Stafford
1947 yards, 16 TDs

I'm curious to see how Tyreek Hill's transition goes from Mahomes to Tua
Could go opposite, and how much an impact a WR has on a QB. No, not as much of an impact. However...

I am interested to see how Mahomes and Rodgers does without Hill and Adams.
Brady without Gronk. And without Goodwin as we seen that a bit last year, if Goodwin is not there at the start of the season.
Vice-versa for the WRs with their new QBs & teams - Hill, Adams with the Raiders, A.J. Brown with the Eagles, Cooper with the Browns.

Absolutely

I have my guess on how it will go for each one, but look forward to seeing what happens.

True.

Mahomes and Rodgers should be real interesting. Those are two great WRs and there's a big dropoff after them.
The worst is Green Bay. Adams was so far ahead of the 2nd option (MVS) and now even the 2nd option is gone.
Rodgers and the offesne will still score though.

At least Mahomes has a monster still there in Kelce. Plus they add JuJu and MVS.

Bucs/Brady went 4-0 w/o Godwin last year , averaging a whopping 34 ppg... until they got taken out by the Ram in the playoffs in game 5. And even then, they score 27 on the Ram... which was a lot more than anyone else in the playoffs.

Brady is also fine w/o Gronk....he was 3rd or 4th down the list for Brady already in Tampa and has missed a ton of games every year for a while now. Bucs were 4-1 w/o him liast year.

But if Tampa is without both early in the year, and the new addition *Russel gage) isnt settled in yet, it could be interesting.

Must have misunderstood you.
I mean, he's not averaging 7th, I assumed this was tongue-n-cheek

Doesn't matter anyway. Just offseason gap-filling

I think the problem with all these rankings is most of these quarterbacks are ranked based on how their team does. Dallas has a lot more talent than Green Bay. Put Aaron Rodgers on the Cowboys and does anyone dispute him 1st overall? Kansas City has immensely more talent than 2021 Seattle. Put Pat Mahomes on the Seahawks in that division, he doesn’t make the playoffs, and he’s 7th or 8th on most lists.

So what does saying Dak is 10th or 11th even mean? That’s the Cowboys lost in the first round of the playoffs? Burrow is is so high not because he had a better regular season than everyone, but that his team made the SB. If they hadn’t, Herbert would be higher on every list.

If you put all these QBs on a team with completely average players and then had them play completely average players, what does that list look like when Burrow doesn’t have Chase? When Kirk Cousins doesn’t have super star WRs? Or when Matt Ryan has an Oline that’s actually comparable to the defenses he faces

So many QB rankings already, but whatever. They are all just opinions.
We are in full-blown NFL doldrums right now.

This one at least gives us their criteria. They are ranking the QBs based on how well they expect them to play this coming season.

Here are their 2022 Top 20
  1. Justin Herbert
  2. Josh Allen
  3. Patrick Mahomes
  4. Joe Burrow
  5. Tom Brady
  6. Aaron Rodgers
  7. Matthew Stafford
  8. Lamar Jackson
  9. Russell Wilson
  10. Derek Carr
  11. Dak Prescott
  12. Kyler Murray
  13. Deshawn Watson
  14. Trevor Lawrence
  15. Kirk Cousins
  16. Tue Tagovailoa
  17. Mac Jones
  18. Jalen Hurts
  19. Matt Ryan
  20. Baker Mayfield
Is there a link to this?? Google brings me here but not to any site posting their logic.

Not really arguing your point, but I think that ranking is about how well they think each QB will do this year.

NOT who is the better QB overall (which includes past accomplishments combined with future expectations)

There is a real chance that Herbert ends up having the best season statistically---total numbers and efficiency combined.

Fair enough.
