I'd take Forte three years ago, but not now, he's a declining player and if he was the end all be all, why do you think the Bears want to get rid of him..

And do not forget to remember: the Bears are a bad team. How irksome/bad do a RB half to be to be not wanted by that team?

This is all I want to see as well. People underestimate the depth of sheer will that translated into Demarco's carries last year. Teams will load 8 in the box (just like they did last year) and we will be challenged to either push through it behind our stellar oline or pass our way to success. The formula for success revolves around balance achieved by pushing guys around even amidst a defensive set geared towards stopping the run.

Smoke & mirrors should no longer apply here. If we are going to get a championship, it should be on the backs of our offensive and defensive lines. Both are much improved. Now we just need someone behind our offensive line that instills confidence he will be there to capitalize for the marathon and not just the sprint.

I see no reason why I should be so concerned 4 months before the start of the season. They expect me to hit the panic button months before training camp begins and we even get a chance to see what our backs can do? We downgraded from Murray but this is just sensationalist media and chicken little attitude

Yes. Because it's 1977 and SI has their finger on the pulse of the NFL.

I think you have no way of measuring his will and that is a bit of wishful thinking. His willpower didn't stop him from getting hurt and petering out at the end of the year.

I am of the opinion that this OL is gaining an Ego. They Will Block and they will make RB's careers and they will take pride in that. To them it will not be a matter of who is back there and yet they will massacre who is in front of them and they will fulfill their assignments. This OL wants to be known and they will be known. In The End they will want everyone to know they will BLOCK and they will give this team a running attack.

They Will Give This Team A Running Attack.

The fact that we (self not included) are so willing to slap anyone behind our oline and call it a run game truly amazes me. I just hope we don't get Romo killed this year...

& I am STILL holding out hope that the FO will make a move before we get too far down the road.

& to add to that, horses that prove they can carry the rock that many times at the pro level are coveted for good reason. We don't currently have any of those proven horses on our roster.

Exactly.........bell cow running backs in the NFL are not a dime a dozen, JAG running backs are.

We had a bell cow, now we have JAGs.
