Sport's Unbiased Dallas Cowboys Schedule Projection

TonyRomo#9

yeah i don't see how people could think we have a worse team now.. we have two big weapons in their 2nd year in martyB and felix. and have upgraded alot of spots. the only place you can possibly say we got worse is WR. and some of you seem to forget that TO was not great last year.. remember all the talk of, does TO still have it? he was a nonfactor in alot of games.. Roy can easily match TOs abilities from last year.. he might not get the TDs with healthy martyB, MBIII, and felix. but i would bet he gets close to the same catches if not more..

Jenkins is mediocre, so was Jones. Henry was a poor player, however. are you honestly saying that you think jenkins in his second year will be as bad as jones was? could you tell me why?

Not exactly sold on Sensabaugh, but he probably can't be worse than Roy Williams. Wait and see. have you seen anything on defense to make you believe sensabaugh will be a weakness? cause if not he is a big upgrade over Roy, roy made it to easy on offenses.. just throw it at him.. and remember.. last year we had roy injured, and watkins injured. we were down to our 3rd safety.. surely you don't think sensabaugh will be an improvement over davis and watkins right?

Wade coordinating or not, the defense can't consistently get of the field on 3rd downs and they are really spotty against the run. I don't know why so many overrate what they did last year. Aside from Tampa Bay, they didn't really win a game for the Cowboys. not getting off the field on 3rd down points to bad coverage does it not? 2 of our talented corners will have their first year under their belt, and we upgraded SS with someone who can actually cover..

I still believe Romo will turn the ball over a bunch (I think he'll fumble less, but the picks will still rain like candy at a parade) and his offensive output won't be as high. Again, could you please explain some of this?
what makes you think romo's numbers will decline? do you think that martyB/Roy/felix/austin(or hurd whoever moves into spot 3) wont pick up the slack from losing a not so great TO from last year?

Based on what I've seen this preseason, Kitna is marginally better than Brad Johnson. We're still in deep trouble if he has to play. could you back this up in anyway? cause the kitna i have seen has been loads better the johnson.. besides the fumbled snaps, kitna has looked pretty good.

Roy Williams will in all likelihood be less of a player than TO was in 2008 and that's pretty sad given what was given up for him and how washed T.O. looked. this is probably accurate to a point.. roy will probably not score the TDs TO did.. but match his catches roy is almost sure to do, as he won't drop the ones TO would.. but Roy replacing TO is not occurring in a vacuum. other players will impact the passing game more this year too, through simple maturation, or more gametime.

to say we got worse just seems silly to me.. i will go out on a limb here and predict we have a better offensive year this year, and romo has year more like 07. 35tds 15int and 4500 yards remember this when it comes true

The fumbles are Romo's biggest problem in my opinion, if he fixes that, I can live with the interceptions. It's not like he throws a ton of them.

I agree. There's no way we lose to the Rams and I could've imagined us beating the Giants.

This is not last year though. Remains to be seen, but I don't think we're as good.

Coaches on the hot seat...a scrutinized qb...new stadium...loss of any malcontent players. If we stay healthy (knock on wood) This will be the happiest season for Cowboys fans in a LONG while.

oh.. and Romo is the MVP running.. Book it. 9/7/09:star:

The loss to the Rams was a complete blowout. They didn't score more on the Boys because they took the foot off gas in the 4th quarter. Romo wouldn't have done anything than make the score more respectable.

Um we would have never been down 31-7 to the Rams in the first place if Romo starts. Do you remember that Brad Johnson threw 3 INT's in that game? I bet that had a little something to do with the Rams having a lead in the game, don't you? We win that game easily with Romo.

I think the Cowboys are going to beat the Giants and Panthers.

Straight up!

I expect a 5-0 start.

That's not true. I was at that game, and the Cowboys had opportunities to score on every single drive that day. The receivers were open constantly, however, some noodle arm couldn't get the ball to them and refused to even try.

Week 5: DAL at KC

This game scares me as well. It's tough to play at Kansas city and even though the Chiefs won't field a great team this year, this game will be closer than most expect. I'm thinking Buffalo from 2007. although Romo won't throw five INT's. However, Romo will have an "off day" and will put pressure on the defense to pull this one out with a game-winning Nick Folk field goal.

Projection: WIN (Dallas 19, Kansas City 17)

It is NOT tough to play at Kansas City. Stop thinking about 10 years ago people. It's quite easy these days to go into Arrowhead and blow that team out. It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility to have more Cowboys fans than Chiefs fans at the stadium. They still haven't sold the game out.

Barring catastrophic injuries this year, we go 11-5, maybe 12-4. We will not lose more than 2 home games, if that. We will sweep the Foreskins and split with the Giants and Filthy. We will lose at least one of these three games (maybe two): Falcons, Packers, and Chargers. We will beat Tampa Bay, Kansas City, and Oakland. If we happen to lose one of these games, much less more than one, then this team will fail miserably. That having been said, it will not happen. We WILL win at least one playoff game. Mark it down.

Why?

Do you believe Henry and Jones are better than Jenkins and Scandrick?
Do you believe Roy Williams is a better SS than Sensabaugh?
Do you believe our defense didn't play better after Wade took over for Stewart in the TB game?

Do you believe Romo will take a step back with yet another year of experience under his belt?
Do you think Kitna will play worse than Johnson IF Romo misses a few games?
Do you think Jones will be less of a factor or play in fewer than 6 games?

Because of the mid-season trade and foot injury that followed, we didn't see how Roy Williams can or will impact this team..........
Do you think Roy Williams in 2009 will be less of a player than TO in 2008?
If so, do you think the drop of will be so great that it will trump everything else?

Don't forget about David Buehler.

I know it's become a bit of a joke on this board, but Buehler really WILL make an impact. Being able to regularly keep your opponent pinned inside their 25 after kickoffs is a major luxury.

If we get lucky by avoiding key injuries, I think we win at least 10 games in the regular season. And 12+ wouldn't shock me.

Dallas Cowboys: record 11-5 and NCFE Champs.

Didn't want to be a homer but looking at it realistically they have a very easy stretch to start the year.
I only see SD, ATL, Philly, GB as playoff teams on the schedule. I had them go a mere 1-4 against them. I gave us one obligatory bad loss at Denver.

I could have went 10-6 with a road loss to the GMen but I think those guys take a pretty big step back.
