very funny lol, it's what the market dictates!!!So if the salary cap goes up 10% next year, Dak should make $66M instead of $60M?????

Here we go.......( Dak, $60M---Lamb, $40M----Parsons, $42M
they don't need to be in line, what is it really going to do for us except give us things to talk about on how we shouldn't have never done it, we paid too much he's not worth itThe Cowboys need to toe the line and don't overpay Parsons like they did Prescott. Both Clevland and Pittsburg have a edge rusher who may be the best in the game and neither one has sniffed a SB with these two studs.
That’s this year. Wait till next year when watt gets 45 or more and Micah will cost more tooI could see it. Hopefully, Parsons means what he's said about trying to do his contract right to help with free agency and lets the team do it in a way that makes his hits low for the first few years. $42 million APY does not mean he makes $42 million each year.
There are ways to help out with the salary cap without taking less money than the market says you are worth. That's what Patrick Mahomes did when he took his big deal years back. He didn't take less than he was worth and for a period of time there he was the highest paid QB (as USA Today reported earlier this year his $450 million contract clears the second-most lucrative one in the NFL by $175 million). However, the structure of the deal helped out the Chiefs' cap.lmao...if you think Parsons will help out with the salary cap when he gets into negotiations with Jerry, he has you fooled, big time! Just like all players, he will screw Jerry as hard as he can.
He may, and he'll get what the market says, but it's all about the structure of the deal. Trouble is, I'm not sure the Joneses know how to structure a deal. That’s this year. Wait till next year when watt gets 45 or more and Micah will cost more too
I don't care about the Chiefs. This the Cowboy and Jerry and the spoiled damn man child we are talking about. As far as I'm concerned, Parsons should be traded yesterday! There are ways to help out with the salary cap without taking less money than the market says you are worth. This is something that gets overlooked about elite edge rushers..........they can be a major chess piece but they alone are NOT going to win you a Super Bowl. Now if you surround them with a couple of other elite players and a dynamic scheme, you have something ..........see the Eagle's defense. The Cowboys need to toe the line and don't overpay Parsons like they did Prescott. Both Clevland and Pittsburg have a edge rusher who may be the best in the game and neither one has sniffed a SB with these two studs.
What should they base price on instead? What feels right to fan gut reaction? To base a players pay on the percentage of the salary cap is so beyond stupid.
Talk about a dumb tweet.

Now QBs are a different animal. Dak is actually taking up more of the cap than he was on his previous deal. QB price inflation relative to the cap is a big issue. So if the salary cap goes up 10% next year, Dak should make $66M instead of $60M?????
The minute we paid Dak $60 million ended our superbowl chances for the foreseeable future.Pay Parsons 42 mil = no super bowls.
Cowboys aren't nowhere close to work the Eagles can throw on the field. This is something that gets overlooked about elite edge rushers..........they can be a major chess piece but they alone are NOT going to win you a Super Bowl. The Cowboys should offer Parsons as little as they can, but enough that he’ll agree to it. If his agent believes there is ownership group out there that will pay more than Jerry offers it becomes a more heated negotiation. Micah can’t leave for three years. So he has to weigh what it will cost him to play on his fifth year option plus two tag years if he doesn’t take Jerry’s offer. Jerry has to weigh just how badly the Cowboys need Parson’s services. They’ll arrive at a number and Micah and Jerry will sign the deal. It will be a big one. Micah Parsons will remain a Dallas Cowboys player. What should they base price on instead? What feels right to fan gut reaction?
It is the normalized price for top non-QBs. It is business as usual
That is great and all but when you look at salary trends over the cap era from Calvin Johnson onwards, teams have been paying the top non-QB FA a fixed percentage of the cap. The Cowboys and Parsons have known this for years. The Cowboys should offer Parsons as little as they can, but enough that he’ll agree to it. They should offer Parsons 5 years, $40 million AAV, $120 million guaranteed, before others start signing. That will establish the number for the team trading for Garrett, and Watt’s deal, etc. At least force other teams to pay for their guys, too. That is great and all but when you look at salary trends over the cap era from Calvin Johnson onwards, teams have been paying the top non-QB FA a fixed percentage of the cap. Last time they played chicken with a player in the manner you refer to they ended up paying a premium over typical QB proportion upwards of 20%. $60m is just ghastly. I would have let him play Kirk Cousins who might be cashing in yet again this offseason.
Nevermind going cheap on VFA and now lowballing the team's best players is not the best look.
