it was an awesome game. Now the mavs fans that dont know anything about basketball can see why duncan is a way better basketball player than Irk. that guy is just amazing, and watch out for Gino, he might have woken up after getting jacked up all game long, specially the smack in the eye.

Duncan is a beast, 3rd best player in the league IMO - the Spurs are the best TEAM in the league again this year and they have some awesome guys to back up Duncan......Parker, Manu, Finley, Horry, Bowen, all of these guys do different things but they do them extremely well and then you add in the 30, 19 game that Duncan threw in and you got a W for the Spurs.

Kobe Bryant.......I don't think anyone (including Jordan) can compare to Kobe in terms of individual skill, if he had a decent supporting cast or one other good player then the Lakers would be a great team.

my 2nd, 3rd and 4th best player is very hard to choose, you have Duncan, Lbron and Nash but all for very different reasons and I'm not sure exactly how to rank them.

i have to agree with you on kobe being maybe the best individual talent in NBA history. However i dont think that makes him the best player. I think just as important is playing great defense and making your teammates better, thats why i think duncan is the best basketball player in the world right now

If GMs could play fantasy basketball with real players (draft every year) and it wasn't rotisserie-style (meaning you can't keep players longterm) I'd have to think Tim Duncan would be right at the top, or very very close. He has produced with quality but not HoF teammates (sans David Robinson).

I do agree that Duncan makes his team mates better but he has good team mates to make better.......he has Parker, Ginobili, Finley, Horry and a few other really good players, Kobe has Smush Parker (crap), Odom (always injured), Radmonovic (crap), Kwame Brown (crap) and Farmar (crap) so he has to do it by himself every year. Kobe makes the all defensive 1st team every year too so he can play really great defence.

they still won 3 championships though.......I think Kobe is a different player now though, he isn't the same arrogant guy that he was at the time.

Bowen isn't getting suspended for introducing his knee to Steve's twig and berries... Just a Flagrant 1.

Just an FYI

I didn't think he would.......there has been worse things that haven't resulted in suspensions so it's all good.

I think it's safe to say the series is on the line tonight - for the Suns. The Suns must win this game to have any chance of advancing. The Spurs can survive going back to Phoenix 2-2, but it's over if they go up 3-1.

San Antonio win tonight then they are in the NBA finals......Golden State and Utah are both just teams that will be victims to the Spurs. I'm hoping Cleveland can win the East (I expect Detroit to though) and make it Lebron vs Duncan in the finals.

I'm a big fan of Bill Simmons' writings. This one covers pretty much every topic on this board the past couple of days.

It also explains what happened to the Golden State crowd after the Mavs series - in round two it became trendy for rich Bay area families to go, pricing out the raucous fans I give a lot of credit for cheering GS past the Mavs. They were dead last night.

Great game by Stern, it was clear that Nash needed Stoudemire down the stretch.
