Squirrels trying to ruin my bar

If you're making squirrel dumplings, don't forget to remove the tiny leather aviator caps, because those are a choking hazard.

Not a problem. Just throw them in the pressure cooker. Those little aviator caps just taste like chewy little meatballs.

So I built a custom cedar bar in my backyard and after 2 years the squirrels have decided they want to have at the thing. I have over $8,000 into this and alot of hrs. and I don't plan on having them eat it. I tried moth balls and they laughed at that attempt. I need some options, has anyone had success keeping them away??I will add pics

I have four 70+ pound dogs. The squirrels tip-toe along the top of the fence, but never come down into the yard.

So guys why is the squirrel doing this anyway? There's no food and it's not taking the damaged wood anywhere ??

Not activity since I put the red pepper flakes out, I have a trap set up now and I will mail it to trickblue when I catch it;)

They're trimming their teeth. They normally keep them trimmed by simply chewing on hard nuts, acorns, etc... Certain times of year when those are harder to come by they'll chew on other things like siding, posts, fencing, or even bars. They have found a wood that works well for trimming and will continue until something better comes along. It's probably only one squirrel or one family. Trap them and you get rid of the problem. I doubt if all the squirrels in your neighborhood are stopping by. That said it is an outdoor bar, and there could be some squirrel raves going on. If you start missing PBR and cocktail umbrellas you've got a real problem on your hands.
