Owner Jerry Jones vehemently denied that the team had any interest in moving Scandrick.

“Absolutely not,” Jones said when asked if they were trying to trade Scandrick. “That is completely erroneous. He is a valued member of our team. There is absolutely nothing we would do with Orlando other than have him on the field.”

Awuzie, a four-year starter at Colorado who has the versatility to play outside, in the slot and safety, proved to be the surest and safest choice for the Cowboys.

“They are getting a player whose mentality is always trying to be the best,” Awuzie said. “I’ve been an underdog my whole life and I’ve embraced the role. It made me into the player I am today, and nothing has changed.

“They got me in the second-round, 60th pick, and that’s fine with me. That’s going to give me more motivation to be the best player I can be for them.”

We will just let the db situation play itself out. If everyone of them come out of camp healthy! What a nice problem to have!!! The best benefit that Scandrick brings to go along with experience is as a developmetal figure for the inexperienced cornerbacks to learn from.

Either the team shopped him and there were no takers and hence the obligatory denial.................or whats his name made it up?

So which one is it?

Rappaport.

But then didn't Fisher or someone claim Scandrick told them the Cowboys had notified him they were feeling out offers for him?

I know fans rarely get this, but EVERY player is available for trade. Right now, if a team offered the Cowboys 5 number one picks for Elliott, do you think the Cowboys would say no? I'm not saying someone would offer that of course, but my point is that every player is available for a price.

If you have depth at a position you just drafted a player into, you would be wise to at least see what you could get for your existing players in that position as it may give you a draft pick that would allow you to cover another position with less depth.

No, what you stated is true...it's still a business, on and off the field.

With that out there, this fan is enjoying directional signs on the defensive side of the ball. Scandrick can still ball, but the secondary is making some sound now...and I'm enjoying what they sound like as a unit.

We offered him around for sure and did not get any takers for an asking price of a 3rd selection....... No surprise really but in saying that i would trade him in a heartbeat for another 4th Rd pick as we do not have a 5th Rd selection currently.

Scandrick confirmed on the radio he was told he was on the trading block. He's already cantankerous enough, what is this going to do to him and to make things worse, Jerry wants him to now think it never happened. The chip on his should is just getting bigger.

Maybe the team told Oscan that if they could get a 3rd for him he was gone, but they were not going to trade him for anything lower than that.

Since the 3rd round is now over, we can deny he is on the trading block.............I don't know, just guessing at this point.

Did see this anywhere merge if it is.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys are asking for a third-round pick for CB Orlando Scandrick.
He became expendable when the Cowboys selected Colorado CB Chidobe Awuzie with the No. 60 overall pick. Scandrick dealt with hamstring trouble last year but earned positive marks in coverage from ProFootballFocus when healthy. If the Cowboys do end up moving Scandrick, Awuzie would likely start opposite Anthony Brown at corner. Apr 28 - 9:26 PM

Jerry Jones said the Cowboys "have no intention at all" to trade CB Orlando Scandrick.

I dont know, this could be because they couldn't but I thought it was odd anyhow. Im not entirely comfortable turning the defensive backfield over to rookies. Oscan is past his prime but I dont think he is done.
