Translation: We tried but no takers.
Hard time to put a cb on the table with the depth in this draft. With all the mixed reviews on Awuzie not sure Rap wasn't blowing smoke here. Either way interesting to say the least. Would be a whole new secondary minus Jones.

the only thing JJ squashed was his bottle of JWB and of course, his bag of depends (or is t hat "squished?")

The old man is trying to feed us BS again. More than likely they did put him on the trading block and got no takers but just to give the benefit of a doubt to JJ, they at least informed Oscan he was on the trading block to set a fire to his motivation... In that case JJ would be correct that Oscan was never actually on the trading block. But we know at a minimum, Scandrick was informed he was put on the trade block because he confirmed it on the radio.

Regardless it doesn't apppear he is long for Dallas either way. In all likelihood he is at the age, salary and plays the position (slot corner) where You typically try to move on from.

May be with the team this year but I would be surprised if it is any longer than that. If their second and third round picks can play, I would imagine it is close to being a die. Deal this will be his last year here

Am I the only one who believes jones here?

1. Rapport is perpetually wrong.
2. Asking for a 3rd rounder (or any swap of one) for Scandrick doesn't make sense. Who would take that in such a deep DB class?
3. Why trade one of the few, homegrown veterans on defense, who is far more valuable to us than the rest of the league?

I would deny it if I were him too. ;)

I would deny it too, but I thought it was odd when it was first mentioned... The guy has a very reasonable contract and when healthy is a decent corner.

And even with the young guy, Brown and the two younger guys they just drafted, I don't see the merit in getting rid of Scandrick.

Quality vets never bring in the type of draft pick that give you anything close to their actual value.

We need at least a 3rd for Scandrick but the best we could do is a 5th.

Package him with a pick for Sheldon.

At this point just keep him through training camp somebody loses a DB then his trade value becomes real and a decent pick next year

I wouldn't have shopped him. We know he is a solid player and don't know much about the rookies at this point. Besides we need a deep CB group, particularly against the Giants...
