Never quite understand what that means. You really cant speed up healing rates of fractures. I would rather him stick to his protocol for recovery then get rushed back into the field and be at an increased risk of reinjury.

Typical media propaganda. Just like when they Scandrick may play right away after surgery. Just for clicks and false hope

Hitchens, 25, has been out since sustaining a tibial plateau fracture in his right knee in the Aug. 26 preseason game against Oakland. The initial timeline called for him to miss the first five or six games.

Actually there is a way to increase healing and one method is to use an EM field. There may be others that I'm not aware of although early ambulation also helps.

It’s really not. He’s already running on the side field.

I still think we should’ve IR’d him...we didn’t because we expect him back soon.

Hyperbaric chambers help the healing as well.

always liked Hitch...will be great to see him back (assuming he he healthy)....assuming Wilson continues to play (what ever happened with that???), do we see any 3-4 sets? you can't keep J.Smith off of the field....

Dez was injured last year with a knee injury.

He also came back earlier than expected.

It took a few games but he was OK.

So it can happen.

You know I don't know the answer to this but I'd be surprised if you were wrong. I just didn't think about it for this as it's used for ulcers and nerve damage etc more so. I know it is used in the treatment of non-union fractures which would not be the case here. I looked and the literature I looked at which was limited did not support use generally. Don't take that as gospel yet. I'm going to keep looking.

He seems to be one that heals faster than normal. Remember when he got injured (high ankle sprain) the week before playing the lions in the playoffs and he ended up playing effectively against the lions.

I have access to medical literature and cannot find anything to support to EM field, or anything of the like to increase fracture heal times.

Theory is that the more pressure you put on a bone, faster it will heal. However I don't know of any medically significant literature to support it.

Also it isn't been touched on in any of my sports management rehabilitation courses yet.

I believe I read JJ comments that alluded to Jaylon keeping the starting job but Hitch still getting plenty of play time when he returns

Well it has been a month, so a couple of weeks is actually right on the time-frame originally diagnosed.

JJ doesn't make that decision. Have we. It learned from romo/Dak. All JJ gets is a mic in front of his mouth
