Don't think we are going to have to "tank" because that implies we are losing on purpose.

We are getting beat every week because dam near every team in the NFL is just simply better than us right now. Yep, without Romo, almost every team in the NFL is better than us in year 6th of Garrett's reign.

We got 3 top 100 picks last year. Jones, Gregory and Collins. It didn't help this year. But it would be nice adding a future QB, Stud RB early this year.

Shouldn't every team with picks in each of the top 3 rounds get 3 players from the top 100? Do they mean 4 players?

Exactly. Or 3 out of the top 67.

Either way we need to surround the QB position from all angles. It is the single most imporatant part to any team.

1- Bring back Romo for at least 2 years. He is only owed 8.5m next year and 14m in 2017. We know he won't play all the games but that is OK if we do 2-4 below.

2- Sign a vet backup like RGIII, Kap, Manziel. I prefer a mobile QB with a big arm. Not a long-term answer but can win some games if needed.

3- Draft a QB in the top5 if Goff or Lynch are deemed worthy. They can also trade the pick for top value. If not the 1st round then take one in the second.

4- draft a spread/mobile QB like Dak Prescott late. Keep for a few years to train and for STs. Teach them to be the up back on punts, the holder for kicks, wideouts for screens but always have an extra QB around.

Those were 3 top 32 picks last year.

But we need a top QB and RB this year if we draft top 5 in every round.

The "if they are worthy" is the whole ballgame for me. I get the argument that you only get a shot at a top five pick for a QB every 10 or 20 years, but I just don't get the vibe that any QB in this draft is worth that status. I'd much rather see us take a franchise WR, LB or CB than reach for a QB. I think there is a good chance we have another Sherrif Floyd/Travis Frederick situation where Dallas passes on a QB in the first but takes one in the 3rd or 4th round instead.

No to tanking, while I will welcome the high draft pick, I don't want it to come at the expense of effort.

And for Johnny Manziel....

you're right. they are gonna have to get it right this time.

if Goff and Lynch aren't the guys they could still get a Cook or Hackenburg later.

But they need to start drafting QBs, early and often.

I would honestly rather keep Cassel of any of those 3.

The mobile, read/option thing is dead. Russell Wilson only pulls it off because he has gotten better in the pocket and has an elite defense. Enough with the running fad, I want a quarterback, not a guy who is a good athlete who happens to throw the football once in while.

If Dallas grabbed JF, He'd need a ring or be gone before I'd give a damn about the franchise again. The state of NFL football has gotten so poor i'd just retreat from what little sports i follow anymore in general. Everything has mostly gone to **** and if JG can't fix the Cowboys , may as well just wait for Jerry to die before football becomes worth watching - unless the owners kill it off anyways beforehand.

I think they stay with drafting for value, which they have done the last several years. The midround QBs are likely better value.

RIght now I think RB is the only critical need in the draft, my current pick would be Trey Downe (trading down). Id rather have 4 or 5 picks in the top 65 and go RB, QB, WR, LB and DB in whatever order they fell on our draft board. I think they sign a Safety in FA also.

It's not dead. Teams don't want to risk their valuable QBs. If they are backups they can make plays without worry. They should be STers over some 5th string LB.

Cam Newton also says hey

So your response to signing a talented but immature QB is to throw a temper tantrum.

Point taken on Cam, but none of the above, RG, Kaep or JFF, are Cam. And he too has improved quite a bit in the pocket and also has a big time defense and running game to support him.

Plus, seriously, you think Garrett can run that type of offense? Even and/or especially with a backup?

There's a slimy parallel with those two suggestions.

Maybe things will eventually work out for Johnny.

But right now if you asked me would someone wanting Manziel also be more prone to say lose games on purpose to get a better draft pick...I'd say yes.

I want those types to be our backup QB. They will run our offense but they have the mobility to make plays out of nothing. They will be available as backups because they have problems.

Weeden and Cassel have proved they are terrible. Why would we want more of them?

I don't really have a problem bringing the drunk kid in if it's cheap. My issue is with JJ's infatuation with him, which could lead to him giving up alot for him.

There is only one QB in my sites and that's Paxton Lynch. If we can't get him with our top pick then I hope Ezekiel Elliot falls to us. Maybe the FO can figure out how to get both.
