You can't argue with crazy. Sign Johnny Manziel? Maybe we could just spring Ryan Leaf from prison. As for tanking the season, I can't believe someone pretending to be a writer has suggested that. The coaches and players are not going to deliberately shoot themselves in the foot and thus risk losing their jobs. It's their job to try to win now, not to try to secure a great draft pick. That said, we'll probably get a top draft pick anyway just by being outmatched by other teams. I think we beat Washington on Monday night, and maybe when we see them again, but the other games I suspect we lose. That's my guess anyway.

Maybe in the draft we take Paxton Lynch or Connor Cook? If not, if this draft isn't here, maybe bring in RG3 or Kap as a stop gap and see if the draft is better next year. See if Romo is healthy and back in form next season. If not, Kap or RG3 are at least competent.

I like Manziel and I think he would do well here but that's obviously an unpopular opinion.

They definitely should at least tank enough to get top 5 they need a Ramsey or Bosa

The Cowboys could get one of the top draft picks

They could potentially add three players from the top 100 draft pool

If the price is right, Johnny Manziel would be a good option

Manziel in Dallas would be an epic failure of the highest proportions. Not only does he suck, but the type of lime light provided by being a Dallas QB, would just compound the issue for someone who is so self-indulgent. /completestupidity

You might have to start mentally preparing for it because I think Jerry's gonna make a run at him. He'll get one more start in Cleveland this year and they will make a decision on him but if they cut ties -- well...might want to skip breakfast.

I couldn't stand that kid when he was in college...even less in the pros....he does have some talent, but it will NEVER be realized on an NFL stage because this punk JUST CAN'T GROW UP....

...and you are likely correct that Jones will go after him...

Are you saying you would quit being a fan if they got Manzeil???? Seriously??? After all the other questionable characters who have come, gone, or are still here?? The one that would drive you away is the one whose only issue is immaturity??? I don't understand that and the day I quit being a Cowboys fan is the day I give up the NFL altogether.

I really dislike Manziel, from his questionable family ties to his behavior at a&m and now the pro's. His allowance growing up was probably more than his rookie contract, and that's when you get a guy like Johnny.

But, on that same note. He is a young guy who's been spoiled with parents, coaches, and teachers who've enabled him his entire life. He *can* mature. I've known a lot of guys who probably could be labeled justifiably insane that turned it around in their mid 20's.

If you can get him cheap, I'd be willing to roll the dice. But it would be under the condition that no spot is guaranteed and his behavior will be answered to Greg Hardy.

Yeah that is what id probably do. Ive been pulling away pretty drastically for a while. I would not support the team with him as its face.

Yeah I've already dropped the NFL outside of Dallas and to a lesser degree Carolina. The product has taken a nosedive between the rules and officiating and CBA. Manziel in Dallas just makes the rot complete.

1) Of the veteran quarterbacks who might be available this offseason, he's the only one whose career arrow is pointing upward (on the field).

2) I'm not against drafting a quarterback with a top 5 pick. That said, we're not a rebuilding team. I'm fine, even pleased, if that happens. However, the rest of our talent is approaching its prime. And that 2 year difference in learning curve between Manziel and a rookie could be vital.

3) Manziel and a top pick might well be a better deal than just using a top pick on a rookie qb.

3) Johnny is still pretty young and I think his partying will mellow some in the next couple of years. Tom Brady is lucky there was no Twitter or TMZ when he was dating Tara Reid. But if Manziel doesn't grow up some, then we cut him. It's not the big deal that some in the media are making it out to be.

4) He's the biggest star in football and he should be playing in the number one job in football.

I agree with everything you posted. We need to take BPA in next years draft. If we can get Manziel for a bag of chips then no reason not to take him.
He is a head case but he is better than any of our other backups. I would rather take a stud RB or defensive player with our 1st round pick in the draft.
I just don't think there are any franchise QB's in next years draft.

If we trade for Manziel, we'd better not give up anything more than our ugliest cheerleader and a bag of popcorn. The man is the quarterback version of Randle, except with some more talent on the field.
