Just get Dak out of the pocket give the kid 5 Seconds to throw the ball and he'll have targets all over the place .
Nobody loves Whitten more than I do but it's time to start rotating him in
Red has to have the nutskis to do that.

Start rotating Dez while we're at it
And for crying out loud put Switzer in the other slot and give him a shot pretty obvious if he makes somebody miss he'll be gone, but no not Scott the offensive Einstein.

Hire this man

He's gone from slow to really slow?

I need to watch some games from his first 2-3 years because I never remember JWit being a speed guy.
It was that play where they removed his helmet and he kept running, they took his speed that day too (apparently)

NFL QBs don't have 5 seconds to throw. I'm definitely not an apologist for this coaching staff, but that's just not feasible.

Cole Beasley considers it a sign of respect. But the bottom line numbers still don’t make digesting it any easier. One year after leading the Dallas Cowboys with 75 catches … Click to Continue »

To bad, Cole, that your coaches have no clue as to what teams are doing against you.
In a sane world, you would have new patterns with help from the outside (Dez and TWill) but those two also are being swallowed up by suffocating defense.
And our coaches seem to cling to the same-old.
Could we call Belichick for assistance?

I'm not a big 40 yard dash guy, but Witten ran it back in 2003 with a 4.65 time.
For reference, Gronk was a 4.68 and Kelce was 4.61

I just recently watched an old highlight tape of him, think it was made in 2009. He wasn't a blazer, but there were quite a few clips of him beating Linebackers in coverage pre and post catch.

Let's try for 2.5 seconds, bloke.
Yes, opposing QBs seem to have 5 seconds, but we don't have that luxury. After 3 seconds our QB is dodging and running for his life and no throw this way ends well unless you are Roger Staubach.

It's like the opponent gets to play with 13 guys.

Teams figured out Dez is not a threat anymore and instead of doubling him, they double Beasley.

The combination of Witten being really slow now and Dez with his decline is too much. Witten would be OK if the #1 WR put stress on defenses.

Actually all of the receivers are limited. They need a legit Alpha Dog #1 WR and everyone else would get better because the coverage would focus on that player.
Do you just come to every thread and find a way to throw a punch at Dez? I mean I know this is a WR thread but come on. lol

Maybe they should rethink it given the offenses struggles at times?

Nah. That would involve our HC and OC adjusting to find something that works.

I didn’t say I didn’t want to see it. Only that Linehan didn’t seem too excited about it in camp.

Of course, neither had anybody else been, for months since the Rams game, when they wanted Switzer cut. It wasn’t until last week’s return that Linehan became an idiot again for not using him more all along.

This is what I've been saying. They'll force him to the outside to use the sideline as an extra defender or force him inside with either a safety or linebacker helping double him.

But it's why we need more speed at the Z-receiver position and at TE to force teams to double somebody else.
