Cornerback Morris Claiborne is on the road to recovery, but the question remains whether he will heal enough to help the Cowboys this season.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that Claiborne has “lingering effects” from a strenuous workout Friday.

“He did do it well,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. “But on the other hand, he did have some lingering effects from that over the weekend. So we will let that sort itself out here this week, let him have some more very strenuous workouts. We’re very pleased with those. And, so, we’ll be looking to him as we look to what we’re doing, see how the games go here.”
Claiborne has not played since injuring his groin in the Oct. 30 game against the Eagles. He has explained the injury as a tearing of bone off his pelvis, which is an avulsion fracture.

He said last week that an MRI brought good news in the healing process.

But Jones indicated a setback in the rehab process, making him less confident in Claiborne’s return this season. In the past, the owner has used the word “absolutely” when asked whether Claiborne would return this season.

“Based on how he was able to move around Friday of last week,” Jones said Tuesday, “even though he did have some resulting soreness, then I think we can look to see him on the field in the future this year.”

Very common injury. My son and several of his teammates have had the avulsion fracture. Mo can probably play on it, but he'll experience a great deal of discomfort. I wouldn't rush him back, especially if the Eagles take care of the Giants. Even if they don't, I would play him very sparingly against the Lions.

Getting Mo back at full capacity is vital. Brown has hit the wall some and Scandrick is just a shell of his former self.

It sounds like he was just sore. Maybe more sore than they expected, but I'm not sure that's a true setback.

IMO, a setback would be if he progressed to point and then regressed back to where he was weeks ago.

Considering the 42% accuracy of the majority of Jerry's comments, I find this encouraging.
It was the ST reporter's words that were inaccurate, not JJ's. Nowhere in that article did he say Mo had a "setback". He was sore after a strenuous workout after not having worked out for a couple of months. That's to be expected. The newspaper bubbas gave the article that headline to generate clicks...and it succeeded.

Yep. We've been able to patchwork it together thus far. Hold him out and get him ready for the playoffs.

Just hold him out until the playoffs

Looks like they are going to work him hard this week and see where he is at. They should know If it is just soreness by the end of the week. Hopefully thats' all it is.
