The current state of your roster should never effect your draft philosophy. If it does you probably have a horrible GM running things.

1st year production is draft for need and it's always a bad idea.

The main use of 'affect' - with an 'a' - is as a verb meaning to have an influence. So you could say: 'Your emotional state affects how you remember things'. The word with an 'e' - effect - is usually used as a noun and it means the result of an influence.

If they had passed, would say Myles Jack or Noah Spence have made a difference?

You have to think they might have, given how close the loss was.

Lord knows, I try to give the team the benefit of the doubt, but I'm so tired of not having an impact defense in Dallas. Heading into the draft with the #4 and #34 and ending up with zero defensive help for the coming season (one of Tony's last) and a big question mark re: any defensive help at all was a big mistake. Even with Elliott obviously paying off big-time.
