Can't you give Ryan Mallet a better chance. Put him behind Payton Manning or Tom Brady and let him learn how to play. Your going way to low for him.

I think everyone is assuming a heck of a lock thinking Peterson will go in the Top 4 or 5, much less both he and Prince going in the Top 3!

I love the Fairly pick. Totally dominant this year.

I would have no problem with it either but it's a pipe dream. His stock has already risen past us at 9 and his workouts will do nothing but push hum further out of reach. We probably have a better shot at Peterson then we do Fairly.

I don't need a sexy pick.. and it wouldn't be terrible if we selected him, but i don't think DE is our most pressing need. If he's there and we don't have a good offer from someone wanting to trade up maybe we take him, but if i get a good offer, and Peterson/Prince arn't still on the board, i'd probably want to trade down and pick up one of the 1st round OL, and gain an extra second round pick if possible.

I live in MD and trust me, they're taking a QB. They like Grossman, but as a bridge to the future. They may target someone in round 2 (unlikely because they don't have enough picks to trade up), but they'll take a QB in the first 2 rounds

Teams that need a QB:

(1.1)Carolina-Not likely with Luck staying in school and they may have possibly gone another direction anyways.

(1.2)Denver-Trying to trade their QB, Elway is in charge and one of the first things out of his mouth were regarding evaluation of the QB position. Newton not likely but a QB off the board here is possible.

(1.3)Buffalo-Wild card pick. Gailey loves Newton and fits his style of offense he wants to run. I would not be surprised at all if this is the shocker of the 1st round. They dont need DB's though, if anything they need help along the DL.

(1.4)Bengals-Never afraid to make the controversial pick. Love taking QB's when they pick this early and Palmer nearing the end of his career.

(1.5)Cardinals-May be gun shy after the Leinhart debacle but is there any question they need a QB?

(1.6)Cleveland-Need a QB, Holmgren in charge.....keep an eye on who is named HC here. Another prime spot.

(1.7)49ers-I dont see how a QB does not land here at this point.

(1.8)Titans-Fisher will baby Collins for one more year. They will draft a QB this year, just not likely in the 1st round.

(1.10)Commanders-Shanny is crazy but he is not that crazy. You really think he is that big of a Grossman fan? Another hot spot.

(1.12)Vikings-I dont need to detail this do I?

(1.15)Dolphins-Henne and the Dolphins are taking heat in South Beach. Ownership has said they will evaluate the QB position. You get weird results when you leave celebrities in charge.

(1.16)Jaguars-Need a QB as bad as anyone and in a perfect spot to grab anyone who falls with out getting invested financially.

(1.21)Seahawks-Yeah they gave picks for Whitehurst but really....you can justify passing on a top 10 QB at 20 because you have away a 3rd round pick and swapped 2nd's. It's not exactly a trade that screams "invested"

I'm sorry but that's way to many teams needing a QB to let a top 10 talent slip out of the first round.

Couple of things, Buffalo will almost definately go QB. They promised their fan base on draft night, "that by the end of the night, they'll have a QB," and we all know how that turned out. They wanted to trade up for Tebow, but denver beat them to the punch. And now in Gailey's end of the year press conference he said (I'm paraphrasing), you don't have an opportunity to pick this high that often so this is a rare chance to get someone who can be your QB for the next 10-12 years. He could just be talking, but I think they go for Mallet or Gabbert.

No way Fairley makes it to #9. He is a much better fit in Cincy than Quinn. They have solid DEs in Carlos Dunlap (9.5 sacks last year) and Michael Johnson (only 2.5 sacks, but only in 2nd year and 10 starts). What they need is a disruptive presence inside. And if they pass on Fairley, Tennessee won't pass on a guy that could give them a Hayensworth like impact.

JJ Watt will go before most of those 3-4 DEs you have listed, and more true DEs will sneak into round 1 (Justin Houston, Aldon Smith and Jeremy Beal). And jmo, Cam Newton will end up being a first round pick, top 15.

Several potential trade down partners if the last 1st rd rated QB is sitting there when our pick comes up. And teams will typically overpay more in a trade up if a QB is involved. Teams behind the Commanders and Vikings that really want a QB might be tempted to give us a nice deal.

What I'm hoping for is to somehow land an extra 1st for next year while still retaining our first round pick this year, even if it's lower.

Being able to get a 1st and land a guy like Gabe Carimi or Derek Sherrod in the 1st would be a MAJOR coup.

No, they're not. I heard Elway's press conference and he said reguarding Tebow "Right now we know he's a heck of a football player, and our job is to turn him into a heck of a QB."

Pat Bowlen the owner is a huge fan of Tebow, and it sounds like Elway is on board with Tebow, so what ever coach they bring in will be pro-Tebow

Also, Mike Holmgren drafted Colt McCoy, not Mangini. What ever coach he brings in, will be in favor of Colt McCoy

Agreed. Its certainly in the realm of possibility too. If not a future first, i'd at least think we could land another high second round pick this year.
