I know Prescott's numbers are a little better, but I'm waaaay too superstitious to post them in this context.:)

You're a brave man.

I threw them out their for contrast. NYG are rated -1.37 (avg=0) 18 PPG 1.60 PPD Sc% 31 21.3 PPG against
WAS -2.71 24.8 2.48 Sc% 52 28.0
SFO -3.27 22.5 1.71 Sc% 29.8 26.8
CHI -4.64 15 1.25 Sc% 20.5 24.3

We have played poor defenses except avg NYG and poor offenses except Was being good but derailed too many mistakes and TOs.

Don't know who Brady played.

That's what's amazed me at him
He's thrown a few bad passes but he's not doing what rookie qb's generally do and make bad reads

Most big school QBs have good players to throw to, Dak had to go through progresssions throughout college bc his teammates were scrubs

I feel like the almost-INT was more of a slipped ball/poor throw than a bad read, so I don't think it's as damning.

Depends. It's hard to tell if he was trying to throw it to Witten or Beasley. I think he was going for Beasley, which would have been a bad read. If he was throwing to Witten, it was a bad pass.

I think someone mentioned in the thread that he confirmed it was supposed to go to Witten but didn't adjust to the route

Makes more sense since Witten was the open man. It appeared to me that either Witten or (more likely) Beasley wasn't where he was supposed to be because their routes crossed fairly closely. That might not be the case, though, because Beasley might have been clearing traffic from Witten's route by taking it upfield.

The yards are interesting here. Dak gets a lot of critics for not throwing the ball over 20, I wonder if brady did

I wonder what would happen if we had a few receivers that could go deep on a regular basis. Seems to me, he is maximizing production based on protection and route schemes.

70 attempts in one game? Wow.

Brady starting his career with 162 straight passes without an INT helped keep him in the lineup and Bledsoe on the sidelines. Bledsoe tossed a lot of picks over his career and Romo has had his issues with them as well. If Dak keeps playing mistake free football and we keep winning he's staying in the lineup.

Perhaps. But in the game that broke the streak, Brady threw 4 INTs. He threw 3 more over the next 3 games, which is when Bledsoe came back to practice, so that INT-free streak was a distant memory by then. Over the season, Brady was 18/12, pretty close to the 17/13 Bledsoe put up the year before.

In reality, Bledsoe looked to be on the decline. He was bad in 1999 and not much better in 2000, the Pats finished in last place both years and they were 0-2 to start the '01 season. He didn't exactly have a stranglehold on the job, and Brady was simply playing better than Bledsoe had the last couple years.. The situation's quite a bit different here, where Romo in his last healthy season led the team to 12-4 and a division championship and came close to winning league MVP. I expect to see Romo back as the starter when he's ready. One more injury this year or early next, though, and I'm guessing he's done as the starter for good.

I hope he breaks and holds the record.

Makes me think of a funny Reddit post during the preseason when Dakmania was in full swing. Someone posted a reasonable argument about how it was just the preseason, no game-planning, several rookies start well and then fade, blah blah blah, and how people need to temper their expectations.

Then, it hilariously concluded, "That said, he's the next Tom Brady."

The Pats obviously didn't think Bledsoe was in decline or they wouldn't have signed him to that then record $103M contract just prior to the 2001 season. There wasn't anything they saw in 99 and 2000 to deter them from committing that kind of money in him. Heading into the 2001 season Belichick was on the hot seat having just gone 5-11 the previous season and was off to an 0-2 start in 2001 when Bledsoe was injured. It wasn't a thing of beauty when Brady took over he was managing games. It wasn't until week 13 when the Pats started stringing wins together ending the season with 6 straight that Belichick decided to stay with Brady into the playoffs. Belichick saw he was winning and stayed with the hot hand at QB.

When Bledsoe was traded the following year to Buffalo they clearly didn't think he was in decline giving up a #1 for him. I don't see Romo back as the starter unless Dak starts to struggle and we start dropping games. If Dak starts looking like a rookie and things begin to take a turn then Romo will be back. I can't imagine Jerry or anyone in the organization wanting to make a QB change if Dak continues his impressive play and we keep stringing wins together. Dak has energized the team and the fans are excited about him. It would be beyond stupid to go back to Romo when we may be building something special this season with Dak.

I have a feeling the Bengals will get an INT this week. It's kind of good to get it out of the way in a way. It's inevitable and then he can just move on.

I think the Bingals are going to be a test of this streak because they like to force those turnovers. I think those DBs are good and this stat is going to be extra motivation for that whole defense....

Answer to keep the streak going= RUN ZEKE, punch em in the belly and keep those DBs on their heels.

Ya, my gut feeling is the streak will end. Just a lot of combination of factors are not going Dak's way. A banged up OL going up against a elite DL. Dalton should have all day to throw it up to AJ Green. Most likely no Dez. I picture a similar beginning to the SF game, however, this time I see Dak throwing a pick trying to make a play.

Nonetheless, I'm extremely excited with Dak.
