Everything looks stable as of now. It looks like Jerry has finally grown out of his immature decision making (Joey Galloway, Roy Willimas, etc.) and is more willing to listen to others.

However stability can be fleeting. All it will take is a career ending back injury to Tony Romo and this franchise will once again be flailing. Hopefully this won't happen.

Less than a year ago, he was telling everyone who would listen that Zach Martin was a pick that would get you 8-8.

This is true.

And maybe 10 years ago, Jerry would have ignored everybody around him and taken Johnny Manziel. But last year, he relented and made the smart move.

Jerry has always had people around him to advise him. Sometimes it was bad advice. Sometimes it was good advice that he ignored. Now it looks as though he has good people around him and he is willing to overlook his wildcatter instincts. This was not something he did enough in earlier years.

I just wish it hadn't taken this long.

It isn't "over" by any means. This is one season.

To some extent, I agree. I am shocked that JJ could be around football for that long and still be that clueless. I call him a novice, not because of the number of years he has spent pretending to GM this thing, but because he is simply no talent evaluator and the position he has for the most part requires one.

Here is his evaluation of Manziel:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...y-jones-damn-mad-about-missing-johnny-manziel

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...s-passing-on-johnny-manziel-in-2014-nfl-draft

I don't think any GM in the league (including the one who drafted him) shared that opinion.

I don't think you know the opinion of any GM on Manziel outside of Cleveland so I don't know why you would think something one way or another. You think they think like you do or something?

Jerry likes the circus and will sit in front of his big top and hold the pulpit for whoever may come to regale them of stories of a spectacle that is or may be.

I can tell stories too.

If you are interested in the truth then verifiable actions are important as opposed to talk after the fact. He hired Will McCclay. The pro and college scouting has been outstanding the last 4 years.

1 season with results but for the last 3 to 4 years the building taking place has been a bit of an indicator of Dallas building process. 3 of the last 4 drafts have gone OL, we are just seeing the results starting to pay off but this is a overall young team and no reason to think they will regress.

For me it's finding the next QB. Until that's in place, the future of this team is a question mark. We could go years and years looking for a franchise QB.

Stop, you're scaring me! They need to leave a little wiggle room to pay for a free agent HOF QB in case their developmental QBs don't pan out, pay the guy an exorbitant amount and have him flame out late in the season,,,, lol Denver.

As long as we build up the trenches on both sides of the ball and put some supporting talent around that, we could still have success without a franchise QB (take Seattle for example). if you build a strong supporting cast, a franchise QB becomes the icing on the cake. This is exactly how we wasted Romo's prime years.
