Hi all,

someone of u can expalin why in the NFC Division standing we are below the eagles?
It should be interpreted with the fact the we lost to a divisional contender but in this case I don't see why in the AFC West standing the Chargers are above the Raiders: infact both lost their kickoff game but the Carghers against the Chiefs in a divisional match! Ok, one could argue that the Raiders have a worst 'net points difference' (-25 vs -7), but in this case we should be in a better position than philly
 ...I find a little bit hard to untwine myself through the standings and tie-breakin procedure .
For the same reason I really don't understand why the 'Phins are first in the AFC East instead of the Pats...maybe for the road victory?

Thanx in advance for your help...I'll be grateful ;)

It's because we lost to someone within the division.

:umm: ok, thanx...but you 2 say different things.
I try to understand:
  1. I must consider the 'importance' of a game, correct? So we lost a divisional game and this is worst than losin' another game (conference or not), isn't it? In this case I find correct to see the 'Boyz in the last position
  2. Besides, we have to count that the eagles scored more points and this fact is aggravating so we do not discuss any more that we deserve to stay below the eagirls
Ok...but I still can't find the way to accept why the Chargers are better than Raiders.
Do we have exacts rules and their evaluation order?

Go to #2 on this list of breaking a tie within a division.

http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures

Motorbreath's tiebreaker, while also correct, doesn't come into play 'til procedure seven.

Ok, so, according to rule #2 the chargers are not below the raiders just because rule speak about percentage and they didn't play any div game yet (so both team have the same pct. within the Division) and to break this tie we must go to on with the procedure:
#3 and #4 are not adaptable so we go to:
#5: if I understand well this is not applicable too and then we go to
#6, Strength of schedule and, in this case (http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/21479/2010-strength-of-schedule) The Raiders have a stronger schedule and should be above the Chargers...so I still have the doubt :(
Sorry, can you help me again?
