The boys are about 15 players away from a team that would be a real contender to win the SB
It may seem like they are that far away this year with the injuries and all, but I thought they were only 2 or 3 players away after last season. I think they are about 6 or 7 players away from contending again. Just not this year. The OL has got to play better, and I think they will as Guyton and Beebe get experience.
But they need upgrades at RT, and RG. They may have what they need on the OL already. They could move Tyler Smith to LT and Guyton to RT, then Bass and Richards could be the OGs they need. Plus they need a real WR2, and a couple of good RBs. Or they could draft another OG, or C and move Beebe to RG.
Dak has got to play better. The performances he is giving us this year so far are garbage.
On defense, we'll get Parsons, Williams, Kneeland back next year. That's a start but I would not re-sign Lawrence. We need another DE who can rush the passer.
I don't know if they will keep OSA or not but he is a free agent next year. I would try to keep him but I think Jerry lets him walk. That means we need 4 DTs. I would give Mazi a chance to come back in 2025 and play his way onto the roster but I would not give him a spot if he continues to play like he is playing now.
I think we have enough at CB. We may need a LB. Safety is a question mark. I would give Juanyeh Thomas a shot this year. The guys appears to have a nose for the ball. In any case, I might use a draft pick on a safety.
As I add them all up it appears I am suggesting they need about 10 players, give or take to contend for a Super Bowl, But I think they can get away with a couple fewer if they just fix the OL and DL. Then of course it all depends on whether Dak can play better or if he is on his downward slide.
