Star-Telegram: Austin gets first team reps today

I think this decision must have been in the works for awhile,I just don't think you can justify demoting Crayton after Austin has "one" good game.I'm of the opinion that Wade/Garrett have been impressed with Austin in practice as well as his production in limited duty.

This should make a lot of Zoners happy -- Crayton deciding to keep his mouth shut.

Depends on if it lasts.

Come on. You don't really believe that do you? It's not like teams change starters every week.

This whole secretive nonsense is ridiculous. Its not like the Falcons haven't heard of Miles.

My guess, ATL prepares for Miles and smiles if it is Crayton.
Do you pay attention to the league? Coaches do it all the time, especially with injuries.

A justification for the demotion might be difficult if either Crayton or Williams had been overly productive thus far. Unfortunately, they haven't been.

Maybe, but then again our Qb has left some plays on the field as well.

I'd be more upset if Crayton wasn't hurt. Hopefully he takes this demotion personally and comes back with a 250 yard game himself lol. No but seriously this is good news. Crayton is a warrior. He'll take this as a challenge. He came in the league proving guys wrongs and he's going to do it again.

And he shouldn't be too hurt. Hopefully this means he's returning to the slot where he belongs and his stats will flourish there.

I agree he's more suited to the slot, where he can use his quickness and savvy to find the soft spot in the defense.

Bill said he always had to be on Crayton all this time as he'd get sloppy. I guess now its time for him shut up and play.

But ... Ed Werder said it was not possible.

He is definitely a liar but no one cares and unfortunately he will never get called on it.

When did Bill say this?

I wholeheartedly agree. This move is a win/win in my opinion.

I'm listening to the Cowboys Hour on KRLD right now and it's actually Crayton (the regular on the show) and Rossum. It could be an awkward situation, but Crayton is handling it like a pro. I've never understood why people hate the guy so much.

BTW, Rossum sounds like a great guy and a great role model for the younger players. BTW, he said even when he was with Philly, Green Bay, Atlanta, and San Fran, he always still watched the Cowboys when the schedule allowed. :)

I don't understand why people hate Crayton so much either. Yea he talks, but big deal he loves the games and loves the Cowboys. He's better in the slot anyhow. He knows he's still going to play a lot and get his chances on a winning football team. IMO thats about all you can ask for in this league.

I think this could end up being very big! Crayton was great in the slot.

Now we have our Irvin, Harper, and Martin...........well hopefully!!!

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing Austin starting opposite Williams for the rest of the season. I think Austin stepped up last week and proved, that he can make things happen when given a chance. I know Crayton has been a solid WR for the Cowboys, but I always liked him better in the slot anyway.

Haven't we been waiting for one of our young WR's to step up?

It's a done deal and Crayton confirmed it yesterday.

Austin starts this week vs the Falcons.

"Hi, I'm CowboysZone. Have we met?"
That post was so full of win, a "win" pic wouldn't do it justice.
