Start Romo Thread

He has never thrown a pass in a game. All the teams we will play will stack the LOS and dare us to pass with him. So JJ and MB3 will be murdered until we find out if this kid even has the ability to complete a pass let alone be accurate. I see Romo starting very similar to way teams played us when we had QC in here, 8 men in the box and man to man on the outside.

LOL well this game showed that stacking the line against bledsoe will get you turnovers. Atleast with Romo you don't know what your getting so teams will be well weary.

With the weapons that the Cowboys have, all you need is a quarterback that can drop back QUICKLY and GET RID OF THE BALL. Clearly Bledsoe can't do either thing.

The time has come for a new era in Dallas Cowboys football. Bench Bledsoe! Start Romo!

I think Romo might pleasantly surprise you. He might not lead us to a Championship but I think he would make plays you'd never get from Bledsoe. I just think we might be surprised. He might only be backup quality but to me Bledsoe is barely backup quality at this point himself. We know what we have in Bledsoe, let's see what we have in Romo and get on with it.

Because we will be fighting the redstinks for last place. Romo has seen no live actions except a few hand offs. At least with DB we know he can have a a bad game every so often but so does, Brady, Favre, McNair, Hasslebach. I would hate to think what you all have said if we had a Brady down here he did the same thing. Look all around the team sucked excepted JJ. The O-Line looked clueless with their blitz pick ups, the secondary was lost but the 2 plays on watkins are to be expected with a rookie, the D-Line was good against the run but the pass rush always seemed to just miss McNabb. McBriar needs to participate in a few fumble drills. The OC needs to work on better Hot Reads sending the receivers into long routes on blitzes is plain absurd.
Bledsoe isn't good enough to get the Cowboys deep into the playoffs.

Better to see what the Cowboys have in Romo. If he's the future, great.

And if he isn't the future, better that the Cowboys discover it this year.

Whether he's not the future or Bledsoe is still our QB, we'll get the same result. Might as well see if there's lighning in that bottle. What did Bledsoe do well tonight??

This team will not be a top contender with Bledsoe at the helm. His reaction to blitzes reminds me of Marc Brunnell. Bledsoe just has a better arm. I will concede that starting Romo now could have a deleterious affect on our season. But we will be no better than 9-7 with Bledsoe. I would rather bet the house now than continue to support someone whose abilities at best can only "almost get me there" knowing full well the whole time the best he can do is "almost get me there". We might as well find out what we have now. If Romo isn't the answer, then we know ahead of time going into the off-season the number 1 priority we need to address. As long as Bledsoe remains the starter, the 25 million we spent on T.O. is a waste of money.

So scrap the season and start all over with a new QB. Makes sense to me, lets cut TO, TG, DB, and Fire BP and start over might as well get a high draft pick out of it.

What makes you think we're going to win something significant with Drew? He may keep us around .500 but that's all. You can always count on him to lose a few for you, he's already done it twice this year.

I'm on board with this. We know Bledsoe can beat bad teams. He can't beat good teams. The Texans are a bad team so let's see what Romo can do. And if it looks like the wheels start to come off, put Bledsoe back in to win the game, if he can, and call it an experiment. But at some point, Romo needs to start earning that new contract.

I guess you dont remember the Vinny years. No matter how poorly our starting QB plays, no matter how much we want the young guy in, Bill will stick to his man. Drerw will be our QB this season barring injury.

Romo will never start as long as Drew is alive and BP is coach. Not that I think he'd step in a do any better. Bottomline is we have been content with crappy QB's and this is what we get for it.

What if Bledsoe wrecked his car on his way to his gynecologist in the morning?

Do you think Romo would start then?

You are right that Parcells was reluctant to start anybody but Testaverde that year ... although Henson did get a start vs. Chicago.

But what happened two years ago doesn't dictate what will happen this year. Parcells apparently is much higher on Romo now than Parcells was a couple of years ago.... So you never know....

:hammer: I have no disagreement with any of that.
