I would send a message to the veterans on this team this week.
I think we still need to be smart and careful. The guys that are working hard, playing with intensity and focus (yes, there are guys out there that do that), they should still start and get their playing time. I'm not into benching guys that play hard because a lot of the team is filled with overrated prima donnas. Reward hard working guys, punish those who are not.
I would waive Barron and bring up Travis Bright. Bring up Brewster to fill the spot left by Jason Williams
I wouldn't bring up Brewster because I get the feeling he was released because he didn't work hard and that they sent him a message. Keep him on the P-S for now and see how he responds. Move Bright up. Barron is a freaking waste.
OL = Free, Bright, Costa, Brewster, & Young
I don't have a problem with Gurode so far this year. If anything I'd be a little averse to starting Young at RT. We can't afford for another QB to go down and I don't want to ruin Young's confidence, which in part is what I believe ruined Rob Petitti.
He hasn't looked good this year, but I'd give him a shot to put up or shut up. And let's follow the rule of STOP ADDING WEIGHT TO SPEEDY TAILBACKS. It didn't work for Julius and isn't working for Felix.
Tell Dez to stop showing up late for practice and he will start.
Let's get him some reps first.
DL = Lissemore, Brent, & Ratliff
I wouldn't mind that, although I'm fine with Spears. I'd prefer Brent/Lissemore, Ratliff, Bowen.
LB = Butler, James, Lee, & Ware
I'm not nutty about James having to cover if Lee supposedly can't cover. I would've benched Spencer 2 weeks ago. His undisciplined play is alarming and really annoying.
I don't think Sensy is a problem. Ball is, but I hate hearing that we should cut him. We just need him to go back to his regular role and get a FS that is like, good and athletic and stuff.
