Start The Pups

So this is your plan for getting Kitna and McGee off the roster. That OL will get them killed. :laugh2:

You mean worse than the current oline getting QB's killed

What has he done to deserve to start? Like I said, I would send a messag here.

Bench Witten and Ware too if you have to. If we had 4 CBs I would sit Newman and Jenkins. Start Hurd over Austin.

Whatever it takes to send the message.

Surprised you feel that way. I thought he was very good against Jacksonville. You know those 1st 3 ints should have been completed passes.

Overall he was pretty strong. No batted passes at the LOS was very incouraging.

I'd go so far as to say he was our MVP Sunday.

Would poor QB play really matter at this point?

If you go with this approach (which I'm all for), you're not playing to win the game. You're playing to send a message to the vets that their jobs are not guaranteed and evaluate your younger talent.

This approach is not in the best interest of this season, it is in the best interest of the future of the franchise.

My guess is Goodell would throw a fit if Dallas did this on Sunday Night Football. Just one more reason to do it.

Sure it does. It has such a strong overall effect on the team, that real poor play from that spot would make it difficult to evaluate everyone else.

Benching Spencer? No ty, didnt you say he'd have more sacks than Ware this year?

Benching kitna? Why? He did as good as you could expect.
No. That thought has never even entered my head.

Do you think the fans would buy tickets to see backups, if it was your MONEY would you take the millions in loss, beside it would not be fair for the QB to play with that OL, remember that peole JOBS are on the line, not just vets...

Green Bay always is sold out.

I can only speak for myself, but I would rather see a young guy working his tail off and getting beat rather than the overpaid bums they put out there last week.

This is not Green Bay, I guess you forgot..
We're not playing in Cowboys Stadium this week, I guess you forgot.

I would send a message to the veterans on this team this week.

I would waive Barron and bring up Travis Bright. Bring up Brewster to fill the spot left by Jason Williams

OL = Free, Bright, Costa, Brewster, & Young

Backfield = Choice

Start Dez

Start McGee

DL = Lissemore, Brent, & Ratliff

LB = Butler, James, Lee, & Ware

S = McCray & Church

Thank you for saying what the owner and coaches should have already said and done:starspin
Yes, I'm serious. If the veterans want their jobs back tell them to take them back.

Of course that long list of veterans will not be benched.

But I suspect 1-7, 1-8, 1-9... and continued national humiliation isn't going to sit real well with the veterans that we want to keep for next year.

It hasn't shown up just yet but at some point I expect this team will awaken because of what they are going through right now - benchings or not. Just make Wade & these players stick it out with each other. That is pretty significant punishment as well IMO.

This has to be one of the most embarrassing things to happen to these guys, from the owner, right on down the roster. The season may be over, but there is some good that could come out of this.

Great idea. Now the season's over from a playoff perspective the next best thing to do is watch the development of the younger players to see if they have it.

Some of those guys are not ready to play. Kitna is a human being who wants to play. You can't set him up for failure and the possibility of getting him injured even ending his career.

I understand all the frustration but you can't make changes just to make changes. They've got to make sense. I would try Young at RT. You can only make so many active this week regarding the new guys.

All this would do is put all the young guys in a position to fail miserably. I know some will respond by saying it can't get much worse, but the reality is that it can. I'm all for working in the young guys as appropriate, and I don't mind the idea of the coaches making some significant gesture that sends a message, but throwing in a starting lineup more suited for 2nd half preseason work than starting regular season work could do some damage both to the body and the mind of those involved.

I think you are half right. I think this is a good thing to do, I dont think its a good thing to give the veterans back their jobs, or let them start the first quarter than move these guys in.

You give the job back to the veteran if your competitive and if they can make the difference. Thats not going to happen in this hole.

You showcase what you got to see what you have, this is the only time to do this since it wasnt done last year. I dont know why Romo wasnt pulled to give Kitna snaps or see if McGee has anything. Which i am leaning he doesnt.

Its time to showcase the new talent for the next coach and make everything official off paper. Time to see what these guys got and time to put it on film for the next coach. Hes going to need all the information he can get his hands on to do this job. Hes going to have to see what he has on this team and see where the new coaches have to work from.

I love the idea, but ain't no way Jerry's gonna write a bunch of big time game checks to watch them sit the bench.

The thing I like best about this idea is earning the job back.
