OG/OT Zach Martin sure not the need pick, not the sexy one either, but he's a lock...he's 2014s Travis Frederick and you gotta like that.

I think he and Jake Matthews are two of the safest picks in the draft. Keep hearing the Giants like Martin. Lewan could be the guy who falls.

I think Mack, Robinson, Watkins, Evans, Matthews, Donald and Martin are all safe picks...most of the others have something to discuss

I think he's gonna go before us, honestly.

He obviously wouldn't be my first pick, but I certainly wouldn't go ballistic if we landed him in the first.

I'd have no problem with Martin although I'd probably lean in other directions. It would be a good pick. I'd be looking DL first but there are several players I think are safe. Ebron and Shazier are players I really really like. One puts our offense over the top and the other will be a Will for years and be great in SPs and STs as well as blitzing off the edge. Both are very versatile players. I like Ha-Ha and Pryor some although I'd not draft him at 16. We're in a good spot. I think they are ok with T and are looking for a versatile C/G to compete with Fred and Mack as well as add depth to the team.

The club still seems to like Weems and Parnell so I'm not certain T is high on the need list.

I'm curious, what would we do with Lewan? We darn sure wouldn't move Tyron. Would we move Free? I don't think he played bad enough to warrant that. In fact, I thought he rebounded pretty well. Does Lewan play guard? I think I saw him at guard a few times in his cutups but I get the impression that isn't his natural position.

One caveat (and this from a ND fan who loves martin)

"Barbie Carpenter was thought to be a very safe pick by a lot of people"

If it comes down to a safety, a complete reach along the DL or Martin, give me Zach.

You move Free. Lewan his by far the better player. Maybe you try and trade Free. It would be a good problem to have.

I think they view him as an OG for now and if Free leaves they can move him to OT or keep him at OG and plug in a different RT.

News is the Giants are very interested in Martin. So if it's true, I'm thinking Lewan will fall.

While not my first picks, I wouldn't be upset with either.

Lewan would be a steal at 16. I just don't at all see him falling that far.
When all is said and done, he may end up being better than Matthews....maybe not Robinson though.

I think Martin would be a great option if the guys we like are gone and we don't get a trade back option we like.

If Lewan fell he would also be a great option for the above scenario. I think he is the better OT but at the same time I think Martin might be the better versatile OG/OT pick.

Yeah, Lewan is more physical than Matthews. He has the nastiness I want my linemen to have.

But if it came down to it, I would take Matthews over Lewan because he would be the safer pick.

Kiper was on radio this morning and said Martin is better than Eric Fisher and would be a Top 5-10 pick if he had the "measurables" people desire in OTs.
