Why not try and trade 4 to the Titans and pick up an extra pick or two?

Why would a team with as many holes as the Titans want to give up 2 second round picks just to move up and take an OL they obviously were not crazy about anyway?
If you were the titans would you rather keep your 2 second rounders or give them up to trade back up to 4?

I would stay put if I was the titans.

I think we may try trading with Cleveland. If we were trying to trade with Tennessee for #1, we should be able to trade with Cleveland only two spots

And 800 pts. That would be our 2nd, 3rd and then some.......

No matter how the draft takes shape above us, we should come away with a pretty good player at #4.

We'll know the Rams choice very soon. The #1 pick is allowed start contract negotiations pre-draft and most do.

The question is whether the Browns declare their pick after the Rams announce theirs. Whether the picks a known in advance will have a huge impact on our draft strategy.

If Browns announce the QB the Rams dont take in advance, we have a number of days to work on a trade down the order.

If the Browns don't, we'll be left reacting on the day - which will usually mean risky on the hoof trade discussions.

Is it not safe to assume teams would have had trade talks in advance to prepare for the possibility of the #2 Qb going off the board at 2? I'm sure the top few teams will have enough idea were they are heading in all possible scenarios involving the second pick.

They have to be willing to trade. Do you let yourself get hosed right after you hosed another team? I especially can't see this happening if Tunsil is off the board (which I think there is like a 75% chance he will be). Our pick lost a lot of value with the Rams trade up.

I just wonder if there's a contingency plan in place for the Titans if Tunsil is there at 4.... both QBs gone and SD takes Ramsey (they should really take Tunsil)...
the one team that can pass on the best OL in the draft is Dallas (although it'd be fine with me if we picked him)... I think Dallas would do it for the two 2nds or next year's 1st...
along with a late round pick.... pick 15 will put them in the wheelhouse where some interesting DL prospects will be available.

I don't think they negotiate anymore. Players make a predetermined salary based on where they are drafted.

I don't have much respect for the Rams organization but I will lose even more if they pull a jerk move of knowing who they are drafting and not telling anyone. Plus they are running a risk of having the player they want to draft getting hurt working out for other teams...like Goff working out for us this weekend. If they know they are drafting Goff then tell him and let him avoid risking an injury and wasting his and our time...
