STATE OF THE UNION- Cowboys: 5-3 at the bye, dare we hope for 5-3 or 6-2 to finish?

I think we need to beat Detroit, St. Louis and win at least two of our remaining divisional games. And then "steal" one of those pick 'ems against Denver, Kansas City and Carolina -- two of which are at home.

Seems doable. Difficult, but doable. Injuries and overall progress will certainly play a significant role.

Heck, we've already beaten San Diego, Philadelphia and New York, and nearly beat Washington and Seattle. It's not like this team shies away from competition.

We will be ok Dale.......we are the Best in the NFC! Watch.....

KC should be a win with the way the D is playing- the vaunted "improvement" of the KC defense has been minimal at best. Denver- if we can get pressure on Plummer we win. Philthy- they are falling apart. the Giants- Manning STANK yesterday- it was the D and Tiki that won that game. Manning is getting better but he is still ragged and streaky. That will be our second toughest game next to Carolina- who I give the nod to as the best team in the NFC right now. Realistically we SHOULD go 6-2 the rest of the way.

Tough schedule, but our defense gives us a chance to go 6-2. Of course we could end up 3-5, but I don't see that the way we are improving with every outing.

The 3 division road games will be tough, and I think the O line and how it performs is key, with injuries factored in, of course. I see the Cowboys taking one of the 3 NFC east remaining games, Detroit, KC and St. Louis. 9-7, if my math's right. The NFC's a jumbled mess right now.

The Cowboys will have to continue to show significant improvement during the second half and avoid critical injuries, I believe, to do better than 4-4. They shouldn't do worse unless the bottom falls out. I hope and think they can go 5-3, but better than 5-3 looks like a big step to me. Here's hoping you're right.

Actually, there is not a better team in the NFC than us at this point. I am not saying we are better than everyone else either, but the fact of the matter is nobody is playing alll that consistent or impressive at this point. We have handled the top teams so far that we have played pretty well IMO. Our defense has played exceptionally well against all the top teams. Seattle and there #1 rated Offense, NYG and their near the top rated offense at that point and Philly too.

5-3 could very well win us the division as long as 2 of those wins are against division foes. I will be surprised if 11-5 wins our division. I think there will be at least 2 10-6 teams and tiebreaker decides the division.

With current play, 3 teams from the east make the playoffs and who they are is up for grabs!!

I would feel better about our chances of winning the division if we had a proven kicker.

If we don't finish 6-2, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs, IMO.

I think we can go 7-1...that's how good we are.
