I’m a numbers guys; I crunch numbers as a profession. So I calculated the average draft position of each Super Bowl QB, since 1990.

Not counting Tom Brady, of the Super Bowl QBs since 1990:

34 were drafted in the 1st round
&
The average draft position of a Super Bowl QB since 2000 is #27 overall.

I know we keep hoping that a 4th round QB can lead us to the Promised Land, but the numbers are not in our favor. Not by a long shot.

We need to rid ourselves of Dak and sell out to get a premium QB in the first round. We are stuck with the Jones’ at the top, so I believe landing (hopefully) a top-end QB high in the draft would be our only realistic path to potentially making another Super Bowl.

This honestly is not meant to be an anti-Dak post. I just don’t think he’s capable of being consistent enough to get the job done and I’m trying to dream up a way that the Cowboys could win again before I croak.

Really, we just lost to the last pick in the draft!

Go to bed. Worst thread ever.

if there’s a QB that is an exciting prospect in the next 3 years of the draft the cowboys need to do all they can to draft him. This fools gold bargain bin QBs aren’t it

I agree.

Until the Jones boys agree, we are stuck.
I agree, but could you imagine if we traded Dak to the Texans and got Stroud or Young?

Or even if they endured one more year of Dak, and waited until 2024 to trade Dak for a top-3 pick and get a QB prospect then?

There’d be so many unknowns but at this point, we KNOW what we have in Dak.

We need receivers who can get open. We don't have that currently outside of our no 1.

If a qb prospect falls you draft him.

I could care less about dak's feelings. He has what two years left. We have to start preparing for the future.

If dak doesn't like it he can play better. He's a great guy, but he makes 40 million dollars a year I don't feel bad for him.

This franchise can do so much better than Dak...that's why the notion that they have to stick with him is so false. This isn't 20 years ago where there were so many QB busts and it was hard to hit on a draft pick. We are in a golden age for QB prospects and offense. With McClay and their improved overall drafting, they should be able to get a 1st round QB with legit talent and have a very good supporting cast. Don't be scared just because Zach Wilson looked bad for the Jets. Kenny Pickett was a mid-1st round pick and even he has shown some flashes at the end of the season.

Probably no chance but I’d definitely call them and Panthers.

The NFC is guaranteed to not have a first round QB this year in the Super Bowl. Of course winning it is another thing against either Mahomes or Burrow.

Not a Dak apology post though. Please draft a 1st round QB but I doubt it.

You should go watch Jerry's postgame interview. He realizes Dak is not the answer.
Then he shouldn't have signed him to a long term contract, or at the very least negotiated to remove the no trade clause
