Staubach vs Pittsburgh Steelers

I was doing some research and unless I am mistaken. Roger never beat the Steelers in a regular season or Playoff Game. The only time the Cowboys beat the steelers in the 70's was 1972 in Dallas Morton was QB. Can anyone else confirm?

If I remember correctly we only played them a couple of times outside of the SB. Not exactly a large sample size. SB X was the first real indication how much the steelers were getting preferential treatment by the officials. If I remember correctly they did not have one single penalty.

Not only is this correct, but both games were in Pittsburgh.

Yeah i think it was 28-14. The Steelers basically ended Staubach's career in 79 when L.C. Greenwood laided him out and he suffered his final concusion. Yeah they lost 14-3 too!

What ended Staubach's career was a hit he took in his final game as a Cowboy against the Rams in the playoffs. He took a shot late in that game and came off the field rubbing his neck. You could tell the way he slumped on the bench rotating his head from side to side something was wrong. He began suffering numbness in his neck after the season and that's what led to his retirement. This is the play that ended Staubachs career.
