http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.co...rgoes-surgery-on-dislocated-thumb-mike-tomlin

During the game Sunday, two starters, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Maurkice Pouncey, left the game with injuries. Pouncey came back for a brief time before leaving permanently.

Pouncey, who suffered a dislocated thumb on his snapping hand, underwent surgery to repair the dislocated finger, and although most would think this would leave the team short-handed at center for a few weeks, Tomlin didn’t rule out Pouncey returning to practice by the end of the week.

Getting Pouncey back in a big game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10 would be a huge boost for the black and gold as they try to right the ship and break their current losing streak.

In other injury news, Darrius Heyward-Bey suffered a foot sprain, leaving his availability for Sunday’s game very much in question; however, this is where it is nice to have a healthy Markus Wheaton waiting in the wings. Wheaton would see significant snaps if Heyward-Bey is unable to play.

Other than Pouncey and Heyward-Bey, DeAngelo Williams is getting his knee evaluated from team physicians, which could limit him some this week, and Tomlin also added Ben Roethlisberger could be limited in the early portions of the week as well, stating he still isn’t 100-percent coming off his knee surgery.

The good news continued for the Steelers as Tomlin said both Marcus Gilbert (foot) and Cameron Heyward (hamstring) had no ill effects of their first game action in several weeks. A good sign for them to have a clean bill of health moving forward.

I see recent injury report for Steelers shows Big Ben as a full practice participant...anyone have an update on how he's moving around with that knee? hoping for a stationary target for our pass rush with limited scrambling to extend plays, etc., which is of course how he kills a defense.

Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey told reporters there’s a “100 percent” chance he’ll play Sunday vs. the Cowboys despite a thumb injury. Pouncey did not practice Thursday for the second straight day, but he said that’s been part of the plan and that he’ll have no issue snapping with the injured right thumb. Pouncey plans to…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2423587&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

Deangelo Willaims out Sunday

Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams had knee surgery earlier this week, Mark Kaboly of DKPittsburghSports.com reported. Williams could be out 2-3 weeks, per the report. Williams has played in seven games, starting three in the absence of Le’Veon Bell, but had just one carry last week. Fitzgerald Toussaint, who has just four carries on the…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2423610&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

The Steelers will have some sleepless nights trying to scheme a defense against this Monster that will descend on Heinz field half past three on Sunday. The Cowboys are coming and they must pick their poison.

I wish that were true my brutha...but I think are chances are good this coming Sunday to have him less than nimble. Hopefully we're aggressive in our rush schemes cuz I think making him feel the heat will be critical...hoping for 2-3 turnovers!

The Steelers will be down a pair of wide receivers for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. The team has ruled out Darrius Heyward-Bey and Markus Wheaton, which leaves them with four wideouts on the active roster for Week 10. Heyward-Bey hurt his foot last weekend, which seemed to open a door for Wheaton to get…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2423813&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

They are down 2 receivers and their #2 RB.

And their center has to play with an animal cone on his dislocated snapping thumb.

The Steelers are going to have to play very well to beat us. Its going to take more than just the reputation of being the Steelers.

If we run the ball with success we are going to smack them up just like the last 8 teams.

If we struggle to run it.. Things could be bad.
