Steelers vs Chargers Game Thread

Just picked a playmaker. Either will do. The fact is...Vick is playing with two elite weapons and still looks terrible. And that hurts me because i've always been a fan.

He's playing horribly because he is refusing to run and I don't understand why. He's probably still one of the fastest QB's in the league and you saw how dangerous he still is when he ran on that last drive.

Weeden isn't playing with a stacked Oline and the best TE in the game? Dez was in the game against Arizona last year and we still got destroyed with Weeden in the line-up. Vick isn't the same player as he used to be, but he'd be better than what we're getting on the field now.

Vick is playing with arguably the best rb and wr in the game. Please just stop.

Weeden played with the league's leading rusher and arguably the best WR's in the league against Arizona last year, coupled with a dominating O-line and we seen what happened. Bottom line is teams have figured out Weeden's gameplan and he doesn't have the tools to adjust or the coaches don't trust him to adjust. IF you want to tank for a QB, keep Weeden in the game.

The only reason Vick got picked up by the Steelers is because of Tomlin. It's definitely because of the dogs which is hypocritical in so many ways, it's not even funny.

Very hypocritical indeed. Even Steeler fans didn't want Vick which is amazing to me because they ride for Ben Roetlhlisberger who.....well you guys know what he did.

Exactly. Dez and Murray are no slouches....and oh yeah the best offensive line in football. I wanted to give Weeden a chance but ID on't know how anyone could defend him after yesterday. I just don't. His job was on the line and he dinked and dunked like he had a 30 point lead all the way to the end of the game.

You realize the was in san diego and the clock limited time the steelers had to score, right?

Vick was horrific tonight. You don't need a fantasy team but you need a reality check if you missed that.

The man took a big hit to make a big play late in the game... than made a play with his legs late in the game when the time management was poor.....Like I said HE MADE PLAYS WHEN HE HAD TO.... Reality check that...
.. and I'm going to post this a third time... and if you don't agree... so be it... but I'm not going to play ping pong opinions with anyone on the board:

Its weird hearing folks expecting & settling for the narrative that every back up QB is bad... with our recent history of injuries, past history (beuerlein, Kosar), and our Super Bowl aspirations.... falling in line with the "norm" is no excuse in my book... you go out and get a competent back up, or attempt to develop one...
If you fail so be it.... but don't not try... than I'm going to be really angry seeing scrubby weeden being trotted out every weekend.

The excuses for why Weeden is poor, & why the team did not ATTEMPT to fill the back up qb spot on this board is interesting....
I don't get it... the guy sucks... it doesn't matter who's around him.. he has no skill that teams have to game plan for, the playbook cannot evolve around him because he mentally cannot grasp the intricacies of the position, and he feels he's "unlucky"..... Comparing him to others and saying.... "See everybody sucks, so its okay he sucks"........ is insanity....

Forget that guy....Ill root for him while he's in the game, but not with any confidence.

Total domination by San Diego, and yet they lost.
Football can be crazy sometimes.

Those two plays for 14 points were massive.
The really poor route run by Malcom Floyd led to a pick six. Reminded me of some of the route-running in Dallas back in 2011-2012 time frame.
And then the bomb to Wheaton.

Give credit to the Steelers for not folding.

Lots of stories that roethlisberger drew up the play that won the game. Makes sense since the play calling the rest of the game was horrific.
