Deep zone is about as vague as it gets. And please, the day I ever learn a thing about football from someone as ignorant as you, will be the day I slit my own throat with a rusty spoon.
A deep zone isnt any more vague than man coverage or shallow zone is. A safety in a deep zone is responsible for one half of the field and is to remain deeper than the deepest WR. If the ball is thrown to the deepest WR, the safety is there to provide the CB with over the top help. It's really not that compliacted, but very specific.

Very simply put...this was the worst officiated game I can recall. But at least the mistakes went both directions and somewhat canceled out. And the flag thing was Saban's fault. Then Culpepper and the Phins just fell apart in the 4th quarter.
