Looked like a textbook ACL injury.

Perfect, Jerry only signs guys to long term contracts who are coming off major injuries.

Thanks Dalton Schultz. If he doesn’t drop the easy TD. Steele doesn’t hurt his knee the next play.

Probably is the best 5, but McGovern has been solid this season. Better have Tyron or Tyler taking some reps in practice on the right side in case of injury.
I think the Cowboys want Peters as the swing tackle. The Steele injury is bad. I might move Tyler to right tackle. We will find out soon.

With Tyron return, I expect to see Tyron LT, Tyler Smith at LG and Peters at RT

Dallas had been relatively healthy entering the game where multiple players went down. Most notable was right tackle Terence Steele, who has been having by far the best season of his career. Steele was replaced by second-year and fourth round pick Josh Ball, who struggled mightily. On back-to-back plays Ball allowed pressures on quarterback Dak Prescott that resulted in a strip sack and then a hit-arm interception. It invoked horrid memories of turnstile tackles of the past.

And then Peters entered the contest with the game on the line. The 18-year swapped sides with the game on the line and gave the Cowboys’ quarterback the necessary time to orchestrate a 98-yard game-winning drive.

Jason Peters plugs the hole, saves Cowboys offense on final drive vs Texans (msn.com)

Peters did not play in the game except the final drive and got the job done,

Easy fix.........Move Tyler Smith over to Rt tackle. Ya ya blah blah blah he's not a right tackle but he'll be fine over there he made the adjustment to left tackle pretty easily and it's a much tougher position to learn than Rt tackle.

Option 1:
  • RT: Peters
  • RG:Martin
  • C: Biadasz
  • LG: Tyler.S
  • LT: Tyron

Option 2:
  • Martin
  • McGovern
  • Biadasz
  • Tyler.S
  • Peters/Tyron
We are in a much better position than most years to cover Steele but assuming it’s ACL it’s a huge blow, he’d be unlikely to play before mid November (big guys take longer).

Tyron also was a RT starting out so could play reps there. Tyler Smith has only ever played left side as far as I’m aware.

Option 1. Peters came in for the last drive of the game and got it done. No pressure given up, no penalties he took care of business.

I don’t think there’s any chance we move a rookie to RT when he played left tackle all through college and the shift to guard was a challenge at first. That’s just not a good idea. Better to keep Tyron and Tyler on the left side. I think you go with Peters, Ball, and Aviante Collins on the right side, but if it’s a total disaster, you have to move Zack Martin out there.

Who would have thought 2,years ago that a Steele injury would hurt the Cowboys so much. Football is one tough lady.:laugh:

Moving Tyler would be a bad move. He has been a left side guy now you ask a rookie to learn a new position with 180 degree flip of footwork.

Counting on Tyron to be ready is still a prayer, there could be setbacks, his injury was a big one.

I just don't know if he is really going to play this year and for how long, fingers crossed.

They should bring someone over for the stretch, for depht. Is Fisher still out there?

They'll figure out the pass pro somehow, but run game is going to suffer without the man of Steel.
