Step 1. Cowboys need to come out being as physical as possible

We need to take several steps to be successful in TB this Monday night, but number one for me is to have a physical attitude. Both lines need to come off the ball to send a message. RBs need to hit it hard. LBs and DBs need to fly around and get in on the action, wanting to send a message.

TB is taking the approach that the 8-9 and 12-5 records mean nothing. Only what happens Monday for 60 minutes of game time matters. I have no doubt that they plan to come out and smack us in the mouth to see how we react. We need to meet that philosophy with equal or superior ferocity. TB goes as their LBs go. I saw the Ravens pound them into submission, blocking those two great LBs and pushing them 10 yards down the field. Linderbaum totally embarrassed Devon White, who was shaking his head on the sideline. I hope we watched that game closely and adjusted blocking patterns. I hope we come out with 3 TEs and Ceedee.

If we allow TB to be the more physical team, I think that’s trouble. We don’t have the skill players to win with finesse.
Need to be aggressive on offense. Pound the rock and we lose.

I’m much more fearful of the TB defense, no fear of Brady leading that offense. In their only 8 victories, TB barely averaged 20 points per game and won 4 games scoring in the teens. The only victory with more than 21 points was week 17 vs Carolina, and they had 7 points on a 6 yard drive after fumble and a FG after a 9 yard drive after fumble. If they score a bunch of points on us, we will have been outcoached.

Even if TB shuts down the run, we need to be patient and happy to keep it close, waiting for our opportunity.

If that TB offense scores 30 or beats us on a final drive, Quinn can hit the road because Tom and TB have sucked all year on offense.

Herm Edwards brought up a good point. He says Dallas needs to run the football against Tampa Bay. He says keep the pressure off of dak and that Dak is not a real good pocket passer. He says dak is a better roll out passer. Sounds reasonable to me.

I definitely agree that the Cowboys need to up the physicality, aggressiveness, intensity, etc. However, this team has sorely lacked these things under McCarthy. He is too much of a players coach and does not tend to hold players accountable for their poor play. It was very evident in last season's playoff game against the 49ers that the team came out very flat in a HOME playoff game. There is simply no excuse for that.

There is no evidence to lead me to believe that things will change this Monday against the Bucs especially in a road playoff game on grass where the Cowboys have struggled this season (grass surface). Jerry came out today and said that another one and done playoff exit will not cost MM his job. That's especially troubling given MM's track record of excessive penalties, poor game management decisions, poor clock management, inability to motivate players, etc.

I don't think we win a playoff game until MM is fired. I hope I'm wrong and we will be celebrating next Monday but again, there is no evidence for me to believe this will happen. My ideal solution is for Jerry to fire MM and hire Dan Quinn to be the head coach while retaining Kellen Moore as the OC. That would ensure continuity of regular season success with the goal of Quinn motivating players to play at their highest levels in the post season. I look to Micah Parsons statements about Quinn's ability to motivate him to be the best as evidence.

If i had a nickle for everytime we faced a weak or injured oline and yet still barely applied pressure, i could probably buy the cowboys from jerruh

Although i hope at least Hankins back helps Osa and Gali(long shot) stay fresh to keep pressure down the middle.
That should help and having LVE back also. Let's hope so.

Yeah no time for finesse. We need to get after it. Run hard against them and bring it against brady. Bring heat up the middle on brady. Get him flustered.

Many are talking about Pollard but I think we need Elliot to run hard and wear their defense down. Then let Pollard run wild. Get both in space with screens and please use our TE’s and not 20 times to Shultz. This would be a great game to use Hendershot and Fergie. Moore needs to have Dak spread the ball around. Hoping for as many runs as passes.

This is the playoffs. Cut down the penalties and NO TURNOVERS…

It would be worth a couple of roughing the passer penalties to take Brady out of the game.
That's what I'm talking about we are going to get the penalties for touching him anyway.
So just make them count Hammer him to the ground and take the penalty.

Get Dak out of the pocket, use Pollard often, hit Brady even if it draws a early flag.

Truth is TB is not a good football team. Yes DC is very much flawed too. But TB's flaws are way more glaring. Playoff Brady might be the equalizer but they're weakness is Oline. Our stars #11, #90, #92, even Williams HAVE to feast. Brady is a sitting duck this year.
Better believe that ball is going to be coming out FAST. Brady is the king of drinking and dunking you all the way down the field. There will be tons of dump offs and screens to Fournette to neutralize the pass rush. If our secondary is playing off like they did against Was, Brady will feast on all the short stuff.

Brady burned Carolina deep a few times with Evans. Need to be careful of that.

Most physical I seen is when Rowdy signals a FG is no good when it is good for the opponent. Real smart man there. :lmao:
Right... These players are all about making business decisions and winning is not their prime motivation.
