Stephen A. Smith eating crow on 105.3 The Fan

TO has never liked a QB that he played with. He doesn't like Witten because Witten made plays when he couldn't. Witten was more reliable so he got the ball while TO couldn't get off the press coverage.

As for Smith, he was an EPIC FAIL for ESPN's TV network. Which is why he lost his job. His mistake is, he tries to play to a niche market, but ESPN can't use that. They need all-encompassing ratings, not just a niche market for their show.

What makes it worse is, while attempting to cater to that market, he creates a racial divide and alienates the rest of ESPN's audience to the point that they don't like him and refuse to watch him. ESPN in return lost market share and so they cut TV ties with him.

Niche markets are for small firms. Mega media outlets need mass appeal. If they do a niche show, it won't be on their bread and butter stage. Funny thing is, while he lost his show, ESPN was showing Pro Bowling Tour yesterday! :laugh2:

I totally disagree with your opinion here NYC. Like a lot of other posters, I don't like Chris Berman it has nothing to do with Race.

I can see why a lot of people don't like SAS, but I don't see how he is creating a racial divide.

man TO is a friggen *******.

If he had been able to set his ego aside, embraced the team and the fans he would have been a Cowboy for life.

Dallas embraces cowboys players, so many free agents and draftees never end up leaving the area after they retire.

I feel bad for the guy, he is clearly in a messed up little world of his making.

Stephen A. Smith went on a tirade when the Cowboys released TO. He said the Cowboys don't have any ballers now that TO is gone. He repeated it several times - "They don't have any ballers!" Now he's (tentatively) picking the Cowboys to beat Minnesota. Hmmmm, put some hot sauce on that crow.

His new morning show on Fox sports radio is a horrible, it won't be long before it's cancelled.
I can't stand to listen to Screamin A. Smith. I actually enjoyed Czab even though he was a Skins Homer. What a stupid move by Fox Radio!!!! I now have to listen to Mike and Mike ... Gag!!!!!!!!!

T.O. said this morning he went to Buffalo to help a Young QB and he was being unselfish, Really?, it wasn't because they were the only team tp offer you a deal?

Football has always been a team sport. Here's hoping that Stephen A. Smith continues to figure that out for himself.

Why is he even talking about football?
That's a good question since basketball is his specialty. Methinks his motivation is twofold: 1) For the love of Terrell Owens and 2) attempting to save some face.

Just a footnote on Screamin A: has anyone ever noticed that this guy has a bit of a racist element in his dialog? In either football or basketball--especially hoops--have you ever seen him favor a white player? I noticed this with him years ago. He really hated the Mavs when both Dirk and Nash were there. He still doesn't like them but it's not quite as bad anymore. And with Romo vs McNabb, there was never even a question.

Anyway, no big deal...it's just something I've always noticed about him.

Many of you will disagree but in my mind, SAS does not like white people.

Just my view based on what he has said during his career and was he has implied.

Just check out my post just before yours and you'll see that I've seen that side of him too.

I think it is absolutely fantastic that owens doesnt like romo and witten.

That is spectacular. Austin-romo-witten are all really tight and it shows.

I just love that he doesnt like romo and witten.
He probably doesn't like them because they're more focused on winning than boosting TO's stats and ego.

More importantly to SAS, he is certainly not Black. So I'll avoid splitting hair with you.

That is his angle, just like deion sanders.

Why do you think they bag on romo and witten so much?

Yeah he is. White is color pigmentation not ancestral backgrounds. The color of Romo's skin is white as any other white guys.

Let's get this thread back to football before it's locked because some folks have gone off on a racism witchhunt. Thanks.
