The problem with using injuries as an excuse though is so much of it was to be expected. You'll have your fluke injuries that are simply not avoidable, however lets look at some of these names....He's not wrong about the injuries. Also, not defending him
Zack Martin G Tue, Feb 11 Ankle
Dak Prescott QB Tue, Feb 11 Hamstring
DeMarcus Lawrence DE Tue, Feb 11 Foot
Amani Oruwariye CB Tue, Feb 11 Foot
Josh Butler DB Tue, Feb 11 Knee - ACL
Samuel Williams DE Tue, Feb 11 Knee - ACL
Trevon Diggs CB Tue, Feb 11 Knee
Markquese Bell SAF Tue, Feb 11 Shoulder
Earl Bostick Jr. OT Tue, Feb 11 Leg Q
CeeDee Lamb WR Tue, Feb 11 Shoulder - AC Joint
John Stephens, Jr. TE Tue, Feb 11 Knee - ACL
DeMarvion Overshown LB Tue, Feb 11 Knee - ACL + MCL
Kemon Hall DB Tue, Feb 11 Hamstring
Nathan Thomas OT Tue, Feb 11 Undisclosed
Caelen Carson DB Tue, Feb 11 Shoulder
Zach Martin - Aging player, and has been low key injury prone (or at least banged up prone) since 2020 only playing 1 full season.
Dak Prescott - Injury prone player who has only 1 full season without missing time since 2020....They also went with a high gamble risk on the OL this season
DLaw - Has been a high injury risk most of his career
Diggs - 1st year coming back from ACL injury - 1st year back from those comes with a high risk of reinjury or alternate injury from compensating.
Lamb - This one is a little more of a stretch but you cant just feed your #1 WR 180+ targets a year ago, 150+ targets this year plus 15 or so rushes for him and expect him not to get banged up. Not addressing the #2 WR position is an issue for several reasons, but causing excess wear and tear on your top guy is one of them
Overshown - yeah this one was one of those freak injury situations, but its still an undersized player at LB coming off an ACL injury which already comes with a higher than normal risk of reinjury.
A lot of the "bad luck" Stephen always wants to talk about stems from the fact that he hasnt been willing to put together a complete football team for several years now.
