SJ says Dallas were looking at 5 other guys and were drafted before Dallas picked. We know Donald Barr and Shazier were 3. But who were the other 2? Im going to go out on a limb and say they knew the top of the draft guys wouldnt be there. 2 guys i see in the vicinity of where Dallas drafted, Lewan and Beckham Jr?

There was reports that Dallas wanted Beckham and would be the pick if he was there. Even rumors dallas would trade up to get him

Lewan is probably a pretty good guess. I think they liked him some. Beckham? I don't know. I think I remember hearing something about Dallas liking him but I'm not sure. I really don't think they wanted to go WR in the first round but they could have had Beckham listed as a possibility nonetheless.

I wouldn't mind Dez and Beckham.

It could have possibly been Kyle Fuller or Jake Matthews though.

Thats gonna happen when you draft at 16. Only about 20 or so guys might have a first round grade and after the top 10, most of them are very similar.

I'm glad we took Martin and Beckham was already gone. But could you imagine this offense with Bryant and Beckham?

I think it was Lewan and Beckham. When the offseason started Free was still a question mark. Parnell was an even bigger one.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the original post, but it sounds like Jones said they were looking at 5 other guys who ended up drafted before the Cowboys picked. That rules out Manziel since he was still sitting there when the Cowboys selected Martin.
