Twitter: Stephen Jones: Cowboys had interest in draft Jalen Hurts

I don’t think them being interested in Hurts effects their commitment with Dak at all. Im betting they thought Hurts would potentially drop in the 4th or 5th round and they thought they could scope him up as good value pick. I’m shocked how well he is doing right now and I doubt he can keep it up. What we are seeing out of him in Phili is mirage. The league will catch up with him.

Is there a setting on here to put Stephen on ignore?

Why wouldnt they? We had no backup qb. Why not be interested in his clone?

It's strange how much love they throw Dak's way but yet after five years, he's still longing for his long-term deal. As they say....something's not adding up

Dak wouldn't sign:
2019 - Making 2mil with 3mil prior earnings, with 3 years til free agency
2020 - Making 32mil with 5mil prior earnings, with 2 years til free agency

Is Dak supposed to sign?
2021 - Making 38mil, with 37mil prior earnings, with 1 year til free agency

Dak doesn't have a contract because he declined to sign one for 2 years. 2019 was a tipoff that he wasn't that interested in signing long term here. He was getting paid nothing, had nothing in the bank, and still declined to sigh. Each year since then it makes less and less sense, with a higher salary and more money already socked away.

The time is approaching when arm chair GM's will become draft experts. Then coaching experts. Circle of life stuff.
