I think Zeke makes both of these guys and anyone not named Dez or Witten on our offense obsolete. Kid's THAT good.

Sigh...don't you get it? We don't want to use a TE minus Witten...LOL All jokes aside, I agree...sadly I agree.

Cant we just use both? Witten is a great decoy. You have to double him. I mean, think of it like this. Almost every 3rd down play over 5 yards is a pass to Witten. Usually on the curl route. So why not have him and Escobar and Elliott in the backfield. Who do you cover? The best part is, if we all see this play on 3rd and 5 so often. You can be damn sure every other DC in the league knows its coming lol

I hope both Escobar and Dunbar are able to come back early and blow it up in preseason. I hope they have highlight plays galore on NFL network, ESPN, etc. They will then either help Cowboys on the field, or as trade pieces to get someone who will.

Marty (8 years) and Fasano (10 years) are both on their 4th team now. Perhaps it's time to take a another look at their situations and top pointing the finger at the Cowboys staff.

Whatever.

but those teams never wasted 2nd and 3rd picks on them..

way too high a price if you ask me..

and thats on the team IMO.

Tony Gonzalez didn't run a 4.80.

Mel Kiper was at the combine, that is his official time.

Kiper's presence at the Combine doesn't make the number indicated "official." Beyond that, they didn't have official times per se in 1997.

If your larger point is that Gonzalez wasn't that fast, based on both of our sources, I'd have to agree with you.

Hey man..

again..I blame the coaches and team for missing the pick then.

Then he ahouldn' t have been selected.

Same with Bobby Carpenter.

We have been known to really buy the farm with some players

It looks like you're trying to absolve him of playing any part in being a bust.

I think it's time to plan an offense without Witten being a focal point. What makes me sick is that he is one of the best Tight Ends the league has ever seen. I doubt he will ever see a Super Bowl with this or any other team, but I'd be happy to be wrong.

What were his stats in those games?

Escobar is a bum. Nobody cares. His availability is meaningless to the outcome of the games.

Probably not fair to judge anyone behind Witten on the depth chart. They just dont get o the field enough to prove anything.
Funny, I think both guys could succeed with a more creative coordinator..but our philosophy is to line up and beat the man across from you, its never about scheming and creating mismatches

Escobar is probably somehwere talent wise between Fasano and Bennet, both have gone on to have long nfl careers. He just hasnt gotten an opportunity like the other guys.
