Everyone loves Stephen now. Of course the moment he is running the team, and makes his first mistake, he'll be an idiot and the reason Dallas never does anything.

If he hires a real GM then there won't be much in the form of complaints.

If he follows his dad's self aggrandzing, delusional, egomaniacal need to call all the shots including GMing the team himself then there will be massive complaints.

I don't recall very much excitement for hiring Wade Phillips. I recall people were worried that since Wade couldn't win playoff games elswhere that it might be a problem here, and of course it has been a problem.

...has the benefit of being able to digest and watch his father's legacy up close, but outside of the spotlight.

Hopefully he learns from this experiment and finds a course that will work for him. All he needs to do is look over the constant articles in the media and paste them along with the win/loss records in between the Super Bowl trophies.

That exercise will give him a clear picture of the situation.
