Stephen Jones on Parsons' contract update

I have come to the gradual conclusion that Stephen Jones makes even less sense speaking publicly than Jerry does.

Sure, SJ has better syntax but his public comments are totally worthless. JJ says “uh” every other word but when Stephen talks he is just saying talking points that could be used for any player, any situation, any year.

“We like our guys”, “Certainly we will take a look at that”, “At the end of the day, we want to get better as a team”, yada, yada. He is the walking definition of an empty suit. He will be 100 times worse than Jerry.
To use Stephen jargon, “At the end of the day” I want different management. Or I wish “we would take a look at that” and stop doing what doesn’t work.

The results speak for themselves. Make changes.

What a weird/odd response from him.........You are nego to make your best defensive player one of the highest-paid player in the paid players and you "think" he wants to be a Cowboy?

But obviously our goal is to, and we have visited at times with Micah, and our goal is to get him here. And I think Micah wants to be a Cowboy, and we want him to be a Cowboy long term.”

Jones makes an off-the-cuff comment that's parsed like the human genome. There is nothing wrong with what he said.

Just have to wonder why they drag out these big signings. Do they blow their cash reserves on other businesses or personal expenses? Or is it a purely media narcissism to have their team always on ESPN?

CDL sat out all of mini camp, most of TC, and he looked rusty in part of that. Can't blame him when generational money is on the line and an ACL injury could derail that.
Parsons will probably sit out too till he's paid.

We've seen Crosby, Garrett re-signed to big deals. The market is set. All that's left is to get the fine details done/wire him the signing bonus.

Nothing but the usual word salad from Stephen.

We all know when this deal will get done. Asking Stephen about it on May 12th is just wasting time.
I don’t usually concern myself with contracts. Doesn’t change the performance on the field. That’s just my opinion.

It was never going to be feasible to have the highest paid player ever (Dak), the 2nd highest paid WR ever (Lamb), and the highest paid non QB ever (Parsons) all on one team.

You could do it, but those 3 would be all you have with a bunch of rookies and cheap FAs to round out the rest of the team.

Dak should’ve been the 1 of the 3 to not get a new deal, but it’s looking more like Parsons might be the odd man out.

Everyone knows Micah and his agent are the ones dragging this out as long as possible in order to get a highest paid position in the NFL contract. It's the players who have become liars and super greedy. They are the ones who are all about the $$$$$$$$$. Any vitriol aimed at the Jones is badly misguided.

Aim it at the greedy players!!!

I guess we all know when this contract will get done. It will be September.

Not convinced Micah is re-signed
I'm not sure it's as much of a slam dunk as others seem to think. I mean, what could be the hold-up? Stephen Jones knows exactly what it will take to get a deal done, yet we now hear him say he "thinks" Parsons wants to be a Cowboy. I don't wanna go too far into this, but I suspect this could get ugly real fast if the deal isn't done by training camp.

Stop. How would drafting Arch win us a SB? Plenty of great QBs in this league don't win Superbowls. Plenty of average ones do.
Not to mention, as one nugget reminded us.........Arch has even played a full season of college football and many NFL fans are already putting him in the HOF

You have a better chance at winning a Super Bowl with an average QB than you do with Dak.

So we need to find an average QB.

If you’re scared of trying then we’re not on the same team.

Shouldn’t every NFL front office assume every player wants to be paid as much as they possibly can? And conduct business accordingly? If Jerry Jones struggles with this reality perhaps it’s time to move on to different endeavors. I suspect Browns fans think their favorite team’s owner is a fool for signing Watson to his deal. Jerry is similarly inept.

So what. Jerry is living his best life. Cowboys fans may be unhappy. Jerry Jones isn’t.

Then why not say average QB? Why name Arch?
Maybe he’s an average or better QB.

We know Daks a loser. We don’t know what Arch would be. Maybe he’s a winner like his uncles. Does Dak have Super Bowl winning uncles?

Do you prefer the comfort of the loser you know (Dak) or would take a chance on the unknown instead?

Very true. So upsetting when 3 players will be taking up 65% of the team's salary cap...

Now Tyler Smith and the rest are lining up to take as much left of the 35%!!! SMH
