Stephen Jones: One of our goals is to draft a QB

Should have been did this, BUT THE KEY NOTE IS, he can't be drafted in the 7 rounds of the draft, has to be a feel good story of a UDFA, and the player can't be good enough to cause a QB controversy, we don't like that here in Dallas!
Yeah, Jerry seems to think his loyalty to Dak is going to pay off at some point.

Has to give him a record contract to get him signed every time.

Doesn’t seem to help on the field either.

This should be hilarious. We're drafting a QB in a draft with a weak QB class.

Wouldn't it be smarter to put a little premium on the position with Qak coming off an injury? But we've got to go cheap on the most important position on the field according to Booger's right hand.

Cheap probably means UDFA cheap because, "there was no QB we wanted at the time we were on the clock."

Snark game is strong this morning.

They definitely should Prescott is basically in the same situation Romo was in 2015 thru 2016. His body is deteriorating fast.
This is so strange. I can clearly recall in 2016, more than several members confidently saying Dallas had a new quarterback, who was physically tough and would not be missing games.

Is... is this the moment when a segment of the forum re-starts regularly repeating the mantra...

...injury-prone???

This is the problem, depending on their thinking, but they are either drafting a day 1 or 2 guy ( maybe enough day-one backup talent ) or a 5th or 6th rounder. This means he won't come close to being backup-ready.

Sounds like Stephen is maybe just talking..........coz to say he's not expecting Rush or Trey but will draft their replacement doesn't make a lot of sense.

Bold> "Maybe?" That is all he ever does. It is a family trait, at least on the XY chromosome side.

Early on that was absolutely the case, but its almost a decade later now. Since 2020 he only has 1 year where he didn't miss any time. I'm not sure how he can't be considered injury prone at this point, especially getting into his 30s where many QBs start the retirement talk.
