Will the Cowboys have an advantage?

No. No Advantage in the least. Every team has turn over every year. The Eagles have a new OC. The Gnats will have a new QB. Washington will change how they do things in year 2 for Daniels. Shotty is not new to the league, plenty of tape out there from his various stops to indicate how he wants to run his O. Same for the D.

Now Shotty might be a great coach and do better at executing his vision as the HC compared to the OC that is to be seen.

Tradition, plus I need some comic relief in my life.

Please don't. I follow this team with a "the other shoe will drop soon" mentality. What you claim is negativity is simply me being realistic of a franchise that has essentially spent the last 30 years mailing it in. Let's face it, The Dallas Cowboys are not a serious football team, run by serious people. It's more like a money generating brand name at this point and football just happens be some something that it does to fulfill some obligation.
I'm asking this out of pure curiosity and nothing else. If you feel that way, why aren't you following the Texans instead of the Cowboys? I've been tempted to do that but can't bring myself to follow up with it. Are you possibly in that boat, or is it some other team that has your loyalty? Do tell, pls.

Eh, I don't mind watching them occasionally but I don't think I can ever be a fan. For one, I can't stand Houston.
Texans had a good team when Noah Brown was playing with them. Decent last year too.

Still, I follow casually and root for them when they're not playing against the Cowboys. But I won't know what their roster is like until the season starts.

Maxed the PT test 10 straight years and didn't have a single problem administering lockup only a year ago.

Oh, the call is still answered. What, you can't...but at the blowhole you can feed colored fish with a loaf of bread.

Stayed at the Hale Koa as a Soldier of the Year. I tried to cash the trip in and give to the Emergency Relief.

You sure been blowin' hard about your service. I have found most real vets are reluctant to go on and on in such fashion and circumstances.

I’ve never met a real vet that calls attention to his/her service. My grandfathers and Dad and older brother wouldn’t share any of their military experience unless I asked specific questions. And then they were reluctant. I don’t believe there is any truth to his claims of military service or ever playing organized football.

I've been there some. The smells & traffic were hard to handle. It's an up-and-coming team, though.

Actually, your argument works for us,

I mean you do realize how ironic your statement is if they can do it in their first season with Dan Quinn of all people and a bunch of ex cowboys players and coaches and by the way could barely beat us with our practice squad players in the second game actually pulled Jayden Daniels and they got their butts kicked in the NFC championship guy by the way that means the Cowboys have every bit a chance to also be in the NFC Championship game this year..
the odds are with us right ,we changed out a bunch of stuff, no one's going to see us coming, everyone's going to think we're going to lose every game just like you... you only seen it from Washington side like we can't do that you didn't remember, we just went through a stretch went healthy of winning 36 games 2 division titles and went to the playoffs three straight years?

wow, this fan base is sold on the fact that we could win seven games with a bunch of backups in a terrible year but can't win 10 to 11 games and have a shot at doing something in the playoffs it's inseparable you guys only want to see the negative, but everything is lining up that that could be the very thing that's positive...

it's whatever side you're on the silver lining or the jaded fan base so you can see how you want but I'm going with silver linings playbook and I think they're going to an NFC championship game this year, and I know I already made a post about it, I'm putting myself out there, i'm exposing myself to all the receipt keepers and I'm going to say this,

If healthy, if Prescott who by the way has never had a season with less than nine wins when healthy, he's never had a losing season ,if he has a healthy team and a good support system we will go to the NFC championship game this year barring major injuries barring losing Prescott or major key players,

They will go to the N F C Championship game, book it...
Can see it now, Dak stubbed his toe, not the same after hammy, OL sucked, D gave up more than15 a game bad play calling, the old caveat just in case.

That's what I have experienced as well. If you sit down with them, show them you truly care...you'll get a few stories. Otherwise you usually never even know, except a hat or car sticker maybe.

My greatest issue is how susceptible the Cowboys have become, recently, to injuries.

Every third or fourth year, this team gets thoroughly devastated by injuries

It's not just the frequency, It's almost a pattern. It's like the injury bug is a virus that searches out the Cowboys strongest squads and then decimates them.

Hide your All-Pros, Cowboys, because as soon as he is spotted by the injury bug, he's a goner.

This is why I wouldn't rely on any specific area of the team as an advantage before the season even starts. The Cowboys have to wait for the preseason dust to settle before they can even find out who is still standing.

LOL...Last season our advantage was supposed to be a quality DE rotation of Parsons, D-Law, Sam Williams, and Kneeland rushing the quarterback while the All-Pro tandem of big-play CBs Diggs and Bland took advantage of a pressured QB's errant throws.

That advantage became a joke before kickoff on opening day.
there's no team in any Pro League or any league at all that can overcome that kind of injuries it happened to San Francisco last year they have a better GM they have better depth they have a better coaching stabbing they could not overcome the injuries...

Yeah so it's normal is sports people get beat up we got absolutely decimated and no amount of extra players brought in in the offseason could have made this team any better last year including Derek Henry so I believe the Cowboys will by default be better if they stay healthy they are closer to that 12 win team just by the core just by them making better moves this offseason than last year this team will definitely be better if they're stay healthy. That's every team's hope the Mavericks just went through this the Rangers went through it the year after their Super Bowl I mean teams go through this and then everyone blames the rehab and facilities and staff and blah blah blah fans don't know this sometimes this happens it's just bad look the injury of that nature to that many positions of key players that kind of depth that just eroded you can't come back from that...

so we have more hope this year that it doesn't happen..

Here's the best thing that can happen to this team this year is the change in the coaching staff their philosophy has to be use camp and preseason prod it was supposed to be for there should be no? Name one who the starting running back is and who the starting offensive line is and how you're going to commit to the run game they didn't commit to the run game he lied mike mccarthy literally couldn't utilize the talent around here including Turpin including Rico I mean even the year before he didn't tony Pollard should have never been the full time starter at running back should have been a split between Rico used like the old Zeke and should have been Tony Pollard having fresh legs giving you burst in speed and then you have a need for a short yardage and you don't use Hunter you don't use a full back you don't do anything until the year was pretty much lost and then you get desperate and all of a sudden everything looks better to end the season...

So I'm hoping just having a different coaching staff here starts out the first four weeks of this season with an identity with a plan in executing it and not waiting till week 8 or week 9 to get in panic mode and start making desperation moves that you could have done game one....
